Bargnani loves Toronto

Andrea, interviewed by La Gazzetta dello Sport between the Atlanta and the Chicago game, said several interesting things.
  • He doesn’t read canadian newspapers and doesn’t think its fair to criticise someone with 15 mpg, becasue that’s not enough playing time to judge a player
  • Jay trusts him much more than Mitchell did and he learnd to play back to the basket
  • He still belevies Raptors can make the playoffs
  • He was’nt afraid of getting traded but, even if you can hope for a trade when things go wrong, he would be upset to leave the team in a bad situation. He thinks Raptors fan base is amazing and he’s lucky to be in Toronto, he wouldn’t leave for any other city, not even New York. By the way he thinks NYC is an ugly place
  • When he played only 15 minutes he was frustrated and felt like he wasn’t part of this team

I’m going to translate the whole article as soon as possible. :reporter:

Calderon is happy to be in raps to... didn't u guys see the commercial? :police:

Gurk 01-25-2009 11:10 AM

See that's why I would play for Jay and not Sam

Joshz 01-25-2009 11:18 AM

Good to hear but not surprising from a 21 year-old Italian just attaining his potential in his third season. The management has been very supportive of him, im not suprised he is happy here, just needs to continue doing what hes doing

Barracuda 01-25-2009 11:20 AM

Aw, good :)

Superjudge 01-25-2009 11:24 AM

How coincidental, most sane people in Toronto just love Andrea too.

Raps4lyfe 01-25-2009 11:37 AM

Lol NYC is an ugly place:dancing:

Kris 01-25-2009 11:43 AM

Cheers for the translation. Looking forward to the article.

It's a bigger more dirty Toronto, I never really cared for it, but it isn't a bad place. New Yorkers are kinda fun though, I swear when you go there, you get the sense that they feel much less that they are American, and moreso that they are just "New Yorkers".

I'm going this summer for the first time. I'm looking forward to it.

Here's a translation via Yahoo's bablefish.

It doesn't come with a translation certificate, but the message is there...

actually, it sounds like "i come from country long distance"....

Bargs voted guys he rather play for Jay.:yeah:

"The progresses are begun after the lay-off of Sam Mitchell with the new technician Jay Triano. “Jay believes more in me much than Mitchell."

If you ever played a sport having the coach believe in you just makes the game just alittle bit easier to play. The article was a great find. Kudos to Praja and Macs :yeah:

Superjudge 01-25-2009 12:07 PM

he needs to man up. Believe in yourself first big fella.

Windex 01-25-2009 12:09 PM

Good to hear he's positive and I hope he continues to progress as a player

lol really im going in the summer 2 but ive been there like 4 times

jeffb 01-25-2009 12:12 PM

Colangelo's the one he needs to thank. He believes in him more than anyone. And thank JO, because until 3-4 weeks ago when JO went down with yet another injury, Andrea was floudering and coming off the bench for JAY.

And Colangeelo is the one pushing the play ONeal wagon Jeff, so really, he has nobody to thank but himself.
