![]() Hey SJ I think Bargs aways believed in his game. He just never got the respect or the minutes. Personaly Bargs never thought that Mitchell was a fan of his and thats is what Bargs is trying to say and be politically correct. Call me crazy guys but what made Mitchell the coach of the year and turn this club around were the Euro players and style coming to our team. Players that Mitchell never really wanted, a style that Mitchell really never understood. It was a gift from BC to him.

Never understood? Then i guess we should have won 57 that year.lol If Sam never understood it then how did he coach them to a 47 win season. I guess it was just a fluke, or all that talent.lol BTW: Garbo missed the last 30 games and AP is an american player who learned to play in America. |

![]() yup.
Did ya notice the fire under Bargnani's ass when ONeal was back in the line up last game..... kinda like "fuck this, I'm gonna make him PLAY his way back into MY minutes" Jesus, maybe Colangelo did this on purpose to motivate Bargs. Maybe... Colangelo is GOD! |

![]() one thing I remember about our team that season was how we moved the ball. It was a beauty to see it, and every game we had a least a couple of those possesions where the ball moves from the paint to the corner, and then is passed along the perimeter quickly to the other corner for a open J. Last season there was much less of that, and this season there's none of that. Especially during the losing streak, I don't think there was a possesion where the ball was moved more than 3 times before the shot ...
![]() And it's really the way european players play, completely opposite to the ISO style preferred here. And the reason why european teams, with completely inferior players, are competitive with NBA teams. |

![]() yep.
Toronto is a good team when they move the ball. If they can toss the idea of making Bosh a #1 option out the window, they will be way further ahead. IOf he is o special, his star will rise anyhow, but honestly, team ball and movement wins games. This is why the best player of our decade is never gonna win a scoring title (Duncan), but he has enough rings to anchor a small Ocean Liner |

![]() Nice to hear an athlete say he loves it here. I think the problem was he never truely believed in himself. Now it seems he is confident and having more fun. It will be very fun seeing his progress this year.

![]() I really loved and miss the ball movement. There's been all this talk of needing an athletic 3, rebounding 3, a slashing 3 (although we actually have a couple very athletic 3s and a pretty good rebounding 3) but imo, we need a ball-moving 3. That's what we miss most from the Garbo loss. Yes, we're isoing more and Bosh often holds the ball longer than he should—always has—but that's the "type" I want us to bring. I'd love to get Gallinari out of NY.
Maybe we're looking at Turk for this summer. I just don't see him leaving unless Orlando gets cheap on him. Gallinari can be a super complimentary player. I keep dropping trade ideas in the trade thread to try and get him. I'd take Curry back for JO if we could get him. Bargnani Bosh Gallinari Parker // Delfino/Rook Jose back on topic... Sam was canned because of the Bargnani situation. Why else? Maybe there was additional friction. But he was what? One game under .500 and Bosh had been (just before the firing) playing out of his mind. Bargnani came here with confidence. He got worse under Sam. Imagine if the Sam effect hadn't kept Bargnani down. How advanced would his game be now? Surely BC would not have spent TJ, Rasho, and the 17th pick in a super-deep draft for a guy to play ahead of AB. Sam did a lot of damage to this franchise. For all we know Kapono was brought in because Sam was begging for a guy to make shats. Last edited by spuriousjones; 01-25-2009 at 11:45 PM. |

![]() Oneal said in an interview after the game something along the lines of:
I am feeling better and am going to do my best coming off the bench. I dont expoect to get my position back especially with Bargniani playing so well. I dont care about the individual stuff, i just want to make this team play better and tyhink bargniani should start, etc etc etc.. That wasnt word for word (I have a horrible memory) but it was like that. This is very positive. It didnt sound like he was just saying it for poliyical reasons, but that he actually meant it. Here is alink to the video. Its just after the hilights: http://broadband.nba.com/cc/playa.ph...5-postgame.asx Last edited by mattlant; 01-26-2009 at 12:38 AM. |

![]() Toronto loves you too Andrea!
I didn't know this kid was intelligent. Right on about the NYC. It is the worst place I've ever seen and I've been to many different countries and places around the world. |

![]() If you love it, fine. It is not hate, just my opinion. Whenever somoene says something negative about something, you call that 'hate'?
NYC is dirty, crowded and it has an extremely 'rude' culture. That said, there are absolutely wonderful people living there, like any other place in the world. |
