He had it last season as well. It's already a chronic issue. As for Casey, who knows what he's been told by the doctors?

All players work through chronic injury... it's not a big deal.... he just needs to take more time for maintenance.

Bargnani needs to do the stretches DeRozan does before games, I don't think hes missed even one game since hes been in the league.

How about shifting the blame to Andrea himself. Did he rush back from this injury before he was fully ready to go? Did he fail to communicate with the coaching staff and trainers about any discomfort he felt in his calf upon return?

Word from the @Raptors is that there will be no news on Andrea Bargnani until the morning. Toronto docs still need to see the test results

He looked for the first 40 minutes that there wasn't any issue.

What the FUCK is wrong with you guys? Have you never played a sport at any level higher than out in the school yard??????????????????

Dude had a calf strain, it isn't a big deal, AT ALL. He sat out, he had treatment, got to a point where both he and his trainers and therapists felt he was good to go.

You don't "blame" a guy for playing ball, fuck man, this is the most ludicrous and bizarre thread I have ever read. Guys fighting over who is to blame for a calf muscle going on the fritz. It happens, get over it, if you could fucking predict or stop this shit from happening there would never be an injury in any professional sport.

And don't use any, I mean ANY argument about "playing it safe" or using "discretion" because if you do you're a goofball because you know ZERO about the situation compared to the PROFESSIONALS that are there. Hell, I had trainers in University, and THEY knew more than most of you.

Must there ALWAYS be a place for people here to oppose and show where and how they are so much smarter than the people running, and playing on a professional basketball team?

Honestly. WTF. You're flaming a coach, a player, and an entire training staff, one that INCLUDES THE BEST TRAINER IN THE ENTIRE NBA because a guy that had just dropped 61 points effortlessly in two games came up lame on a play. A PLAY, not a build up of pain, a play.

FANTASTIC guys!!!!! Way to give er'

I just had a Starbucks Italian blend...it was terrible.

And I'm listening to Metric, pretentious bitch.

And I have to work tomorrow, stealing my Friday joy...preposterous!!!

and then...this thread of Superfan MD's talking bout how Casey has ended Bargnani's career by letting him play on a broken leg!

Injuries are a part of the game. You can look back in time at any injury and play the woulda-shoulda-coulda game. Maybe if Garbajosa didn't run so hard back on that fast break a few years ago he wouldn't have badly broken his leg and would still be in the NBA as a valuable role player. Maybe if Shaun Livingston was more careful with his drive (and weight training for his lower body) he wouldn't have torn three ligaments in his knee and he'd be one of the best point guards in the NBA. Maybe if Dwayne Wade was more careful when he was poking the ball loose a few years ago he wouldn't have separated his shoulder and essentially lost part of a season.

Injuries suck, but SJ is totally right, they happen. Dirk has had countless ankle injuries and played on ankle injuries twice in the playoffs the past few years. Some people worried it may cripple his career. Turned out he had enough gas left in the tank to win a championship last year. Meanwhile, Tracy McGrady wore out his knee cartilage to the point that he's a shadow of himself at only 31 years old (much like Alvin Williams did for us).

A calf injury is nothing to cut your wrists over. I'm much more worried about Jose's frail hamstrings.

Raptors forward-centre Andrea Bargnani reinjured his strained left calf in the first overtime of Wednesday’s double-overtime victory at Utah. Tests done Thursday in Denver revealed no significant damage to the calf. Bargnani will be treated symptomatically and is expected to be sidelined for an indefinite period of time.

Bargnani originally injured his calf January 11 against Sacramento. He missed six games from January 13-22.

In 13 games this season, Bargnani has averaged a team-leading 23.5 points with 6.4 rebounds, second on the team, in a team-high 36.1 minutes. He has scored 30 or more points in four contests, including 36 in his return to the lineup Tuesday in Phoenix.

The Raptors face the Nuggets on Friday in Denver at Pepsi Center. Game time is 9 p.m. ET (TSN2/Sportsnet 590 The FAN).

Sounds like this could a be 2 week injury or a 4+ week injury. We'll have to see, and i would think they'll be more patient this time and cautious.

Ya that's the thing, "No Timetable set for his return" Could possibly mean 2 months no?
