What does he mean? He doesn't want to be a 3-point specialist or what?
Cuz I thought being a 3-point specialist was good

Sounds like he wants to be known for doing many things well.

t-bag 09-08-2008 12:21 AM

Sounds like he should do many things well.

That kind of talk doesn't help his trade value much either... On the other hand maybe we could trade him to a crappy team where he would be a starter, get a high draft pick in return (not a no. 1 pick obviously but oh well).

Time for Bargnani to let his actions speak for itself. Learning curve being slower for big men or not, this season in many ways I think will determine Andrea's future here in Toronto in my opinion. Time for himself to show us what he's really made of.

Good for him.

Thats a solid quote, I respect it.

fancylad 09-08-2008 08:51 AM

ICE in his veins, eh SJ?

Superjudge 09-08-2008 08:56 AM

I hope so.

I just like that he is pointing out his needs to develope a rounded game. Thats a good thing from a young guy.

fancylad 09-08-2008 09:04 AM

Yeh.

No doubt last year was a dissapointing year for the guy. I like the fact that this time around he's setting the bar high. Personally, i think he can acheive his goal of being a dominant all-round player. I have the faith.

Superjudge 09-08-2008 09:31 AM

he shows glimpses, thats for certain.

As do you.

But on the other hand, I have no fear that Bargs will indead be a special player whose worst case is Okur and best case is no-one knows cause no-one has seen before.

LX 09-08-2008 10:18 AM

Being an all-around good player with versatility is what makes him anything close to special, but it will take him time to make good on the potential. He does have to show more than just glimpses this season though.

Thats a very positive outlook. I'm on the fence with that. I want to see him do so many things well before I pencil him in for it. He might have Joey Graham syndrome... That can be fatal without a lobotomy.

jeffb 09-08-2008 02:53 PM

He's a very big key to this season. If he plays good and improves his rebounding, back to basket skills and can be a consistent scorer it would allow us to sustain an injury to Bosh/OJ easier. But if one of those players goes down and can't step up,it could be trouble.

Snooch 09-08-2008 02:56 PM

I think Bargs is gonna play good and loose this year. He played better the first year after Bosh can aboard him and you can bet JO will this year as well.

I think he will feel less pressure and will show just how dynamic he can be, just like those youtubes of him in Italy.

And I will be right because I always am.

bjjs 09-08-2008 03:41 PM

He's got to develop a go to high post move that is good for 6/8 points a game. He has to learn to take it easy and get himself going wih a few routine baskets, then he can start bombing from downtown and doing his Baryshnikov impression through the lane.

And doing that is as much on him as it is Jose and Sam. He's too talented to not work through him on the offensive end.

Superjudge 09-08-2008 03:42 PM

agreed.

x5

Gurk 09-08-2008 04:55 PM

Plain and simple
Bargs does bad this year=trade
