Bargnani, Davis, and Amir.......Who Stays??

The reason I ask this, and I dont know if there was a thread started for this topic, but since the new coach stated he was sending Bargnani to PF. Where does that leave us in the PF position.

I like Bargnanis ability to shoot and create mis matches. And I see allot of potential in Davis.
I am also a fan of Amir's game. He is a straight up hustler. But is there room for all three?

Discuss.

Hopefully Davis & Amir :D

But i have a feeling Amir might be moved. I can't see Colangelo trading a young asset like Davis a year after drafting him, and after he had a good rookie year. At his price it makes little sense. And if he's all about capspace one of Bargs/Amir would be the candidates. Davis is controlable for the next 4 seasons at only 11.7Mil over that span.

Bargnani will stay.
The other two are both a coin flip.

Ideally if it's between Davis & Amir it would be Amir. Davis is cheaper and has a higher ceiling.

He makes 2Mil/yr.....what do you expect to get for that? If he's dealt we'd have to trade someone else to get anything significant.

Bargs isn't going anywhere so yeah, IF one of the three is moving it would be between Amir or Davis. Davis makes more sense cause of his value over Amir.

someone like Barbosa and is 7.6 million player option that I'm sure he'll pick-up - since I seriously doubt he would get money like that on the open market.

FYI, Barbosa picked up his PO last June.

I was happy - better to have an expiring contract this deadline than a lot of cap space this summer we won't be using except to overpay some declining veteran.

+1 He was one of the few guys that could actually break down his defender.

Ok ok, it was more like 50/50, geez where is my backup from all the people that didn't like him picking up the option lol

i was definitely one of the ones unhappy about barbosa picking up his option. we're not going to be any good, so i don't care about the 2-5 wins he might help us get - in fact they may even be detrimental in the pursuit of a pick. more importantly, though, i think he takes touches away from the guys we are trying to develop. that is partly because of his minutes, but more because of the way he plays in his minutes. he is a black hole, and i think he wastes development opportunities for the young guys by going 1 on 5 all the time. play bayless, dd, johnson, etc. those guys need minutes. barbosa isn't part of the future, and winning games now is practically irrelevant.

fk24 12-01-2011 12:45 PM

If anyone needs to go it's Bargnani. He's not an efficient scorer and he's the worst big man defender by far.

Yay found one!!! :D

I'm ok with him picking up the option, so long as he's traded within the next 3 weeks.
Preferably in a S&T for Chandler.
That would be hotness.

the question asked in this thread is a good one, and it's exactly why the raps needed this year to heppen. This year is to figure out if Bargnani can do anything, if Davis can get better, or if Amir can evolve past a back up role.

Bankiz 12-01-2011 01:20 PM

please keep amir.
please don't be mad at me, but a guy who want to be here, and we put some effort, heart and hustle like a beast on the court should gain our respect more than a bargs.

i like davis, but i really don't think he will stay after his rookie contract :

so davis + calderon for odom

and bargs for nelson + 1st orlando 2012

and i know that seems too much, but i will do :
barbosa for korver + 1st charlotte 2012

that would be some good things going forward !!! no ?

Nelson/JBay
DD/korver
JJ/kleiza
odom/Amir
Chandler/alabi/"JV"

and 3 first round.

LOL ! LOL ! LOL !!!!!!!!!!
