Default Bargnani or Calderon : Who do the Raptors Miss More?

Just a question. If one had to be out of the lineup who would it be?

I think the answer is obvious but I just wanted to pose it and see if a debate comes about. I know some here (for some reason the some usually create the posts) think just from the vibe of the last game.

I'd like you to think about this and keep in my the current roster and the chemistry of the team.

Edit: Don't mind the incorrect grammar on the Topic. I'm not use to starting up threads

Bargnani, and it shouldn't really be a question. Calderon has Jack behind him that can start and there isn't a drop off and in fact there's a bit of an upgrade at the defensive end. Bargnani on the other hand has nobody backing him up that can even come close to what he does. Rasho is slow very unathletic and last night looked awful.

The team is NOT solid nor is it at all deep. What you saw last night is what happens when two starters are out, it creates massive holes when you starters themsleves aren't always super duper.

Toronto, to be successful, has to be 100% healthy and give 100% every game.

This is the reality. If they are not, and do not, they won't win.

Right now i would have to say its a tie. We need both in the game.

Right now Jack is a back up pg trying to run our offence and is struggling doing it. The last 2 games were just awful Jack can't shoot and is d is just as bad as Caldy as seen the last 2 games. Caldy is better attacking the rim as he is able to blow by guys without even getting fouled while Jack has trouble beating guys clean. I don't think that Jack has even tried a alley oop pass to DD in 2 games. Jack has been solid though hes trying and thats all we can expect from our back up pg.

It was only one game but you can see the differance without Bargs on the floor. Bosh has little room to move and get open. We miss Bargs spreading the d on the floor. We miss his shooting although hes been off lately hes still a better shooter then most on this team.

To all the Caldy and Bargs haters you got what you asked for.You got to see how we look without these 2 guys and now you see that Caldy is head and shoulders our best pg and Bargs d and offence is missed when hes not on the floor. Look at what the Bucks guards did to Jack last night.

No Caldy no Bargs no problem....not a fucking chance. This should shut down alot of guys on how they value these 2 guys.

Do you really think that's the only reason this team misses Bargs more? Give me a break...

I wouldn't say I prefer Jack over Jose or visa versa, but Jack brings things to the table that Jose does not.

It's gotta be Bargs though. Against Minnesota we missed shots. Last night our offense was blatantly stagnant and cluttered.

Jack nearly had a triple double tuesday night (17/8/7), Rasho is a huge drop off from Bargnani.

seeing Rasho play so much last night made me head hurt... dont get me wrong, i love the big russian (or latvian, or lithuanian...wherever he's from), but he isnt a starter, nor is he a heavy minutes guy. so i'd have to say that we miss Bargs more than JC.

calderon is a much better offensive player than andrea. Plus there was a huge drop off whenever banks entered the game. I can't believe this guy gets 4 million a year, he's one of the biggest reasons I dislike BC

you make a great point there kia... banks is pretty darn awful. he has very little bball iq and makes horrible decisions out there.
i love that we have JJ as our backup, but when Banks enters the game, i lose all confidence in the team. I think the worst part about banks is that hedo has been playing horribly as well... hedo is supposed to be the second pg on the floor when banks is in, yet hedo's been shitting it up as well. and it puts more pressure on banks to run the show. yikes.

Without Banks there's no Marion, without Marion there's no Turkoglu, without the Turkoglu sign and trade there's no bench depth.

I urge everyone to look at the big picture, sometimes bad shit has to happen for good shit to happen.

Banks is horrible, but be thankful he's only playing minutes because our point guard rotation has taken a hit. At least he's not a part of the regular rotation.

I agree to an extent. I'd say they could survive injuries if its not Bosh / Hedo or Bargs. Those three guys are the life blood of the team lose one of them we are a lottery team guarenteed

good teams can beat you on their off night, Toronto has to play its best to beat a bad team. Minnesota was the exception they were actually worst than us, even though we played bad as well.

I dunno if I could debate that. Its a little too blanket if you ask me. Raps haven't created an identity yet to debate it. Although maybe this is their identity.

Banks played a pretty decent game last night. How was there a huge drop off?
He put pressure on the defense, he fought through screens, he did a good job keeping his man in front of him...

I don't understand... hedo is pretty much playing like himself, he lacks a little defensive prowess on most plays but number-wise, his ppg is down a little because he IS on a new team without the luxury of howard. His fg% and 3p% are pretty the same, APG and RPG are pretty much the same. As for Bargs and jose we definitely miss them equally as much... Banks is shite!
