Default Bargnani....C? 3? or both?

What are the chances of seeing Bosh, JO, and Bargnani on the floor at the same time again this season?

Is AB now solely a Centre based on his strong play of late...or will the raps continue to experiment at times with him at the 3?

What would you do if you were JT?

I think it's safe to say Bargnani's day at the three are done.

Maybe we'll see them all on the floor together if a certain (end of game) play calls for it / or a certain matchup.... but i just can't see Andrea going back to play a position that he's clearly not suited for.

I hope so at least.

+ 1

No way in hell the Raptors screw with Andrea now. He's not suited to play SF and he is headache for opposing teams at the C spot now.

If it ain't broke, don't fix it.

He's a Centre right now and he's comfortable in that position. In addition to his comfortability he opens up the floor much more with his shooting ability. Centres don't like coming out that far and when the opposing player(s) come out ot challenge him, he gets by them easily. Hell how many times recently has he just pump faked and taken a pull up? Or more impressively draw contact on the shot?

Putting him at the 3 just places him at a disadvantage.

Bosh loves his jumpers anyway lol

I was going to say this too. IF and I mean IF they are on the court at the same time i'd rather see Bosh guarding the other team's three, Oneal the 4 and AB the 5(unless the 5 is Shaq)....but really having them on the court at the same time is only a good idea because it's better than having 2 of them with Moon or Graham..and that's not really a great reason to try it for extended periods.

Andreea was never supposed to play the 3, that was Sam's stupid idea to save his ass, because Jamario was not performing well enough (or maybe to force Bryan's hand). It was a moronic proposition to have a much heavier (compared to his rookie year) Andreea try to guard players like Lebron or Carmelo. Even Barkley's grandmother can see that ...

nba players don't really guard by position, they guard by matchup. triano doesn't say ok - you gusrd the 3, you the 4 and you the 5. he says, ok chris, you got rashard, jo, you got dwight and andrea you got hedo. if they make a sub, the players just match up to the new guys as they think they have the advantage. who cares what position they play, it's more about size, speed and the type of game they play.

exactly correct... defend by player and we have no player to guard most teams 2 or 3 players... sigh..

I agree... i was speaking in general terms... as in i would rather have Bosh guard the smaller quicker guys(3) than Bargnani who i'd rather have on the bigger slower guys(5) and Oneal on the one inbetween

i would love to have a 3 who can actually play defense and make solid plays on the wing... like say, a revitalized shawn marion

bargs actually did pretty well at the 3 for a while to my surprise. he also had stinky games there but he started well. he's capable of doing it but its not his best position, doesn't play to his advantages, and its unfair to expect him to guard carmello, bron, etc. especially over long stints.

although what i've just written leads to an answer of "both", i say C.

I find it kind of interesting that no one has really mentioned the fact that Bargs
is really a 4.

But as of right now, with the team we have assembled, there is no way he is anything other than the 5.

i hear people say this all the time but i never hear any reason why. what makes him really a 4 and not a 5 or even a 3?

Well, at the 3 offensively he currently lacks the post up game to take advantage of smaller players, and defensively he is WAY to slow to guard most of the 3's in the league.

And at the 5 he still doesn't match up well defending the bigger centers.

Classic 5 have post game and are good rebounders. Bosh does that in last games.
