and at this stage in his career he is legitimately best served as a low-risk backup.

To Bulls:

Calderon
Kris Humphries

To Brooklyn:

Bargnani

To Toronto:

Boozer
Hinrich
Hamilton
1st round pick owed to Chicago from Charlotte, fairly heavy protection next two years, but only top 8 protected in 2015 and unprotected in 2016.

Chicago gets a solid rental in Calderon to make sure they get a decent playoff seed for Rose's return. It also gives them a chance to compete this year even if Rose does not return at all. Caldy might fit really well there with Deng, Gibson and Noah watching his back. The Bulls also get some financial flexibility by ditching Boozer for Hump's shorter contract. It helps them avoid the tax, which is reportedly an important concern for them.

Brooklyn gets to take a chance on Bargnani producing in a new environment. Hump is not giving them anything that they can't already get from Evans. They can afford to bring a $10+ million Bargnani off the bench. The Nets piss money.

Toronto gets a pick that could be very valuable in the future. The payoff would come down the road, though, if Charlotte continues to suck as franchise. Hinrich could back-up Lowry for the remainder of this season and next year. Boozer's contract sucks, but he would give us more than Bargnani gave us this year. It's part of the price we pay to get that Charlotte pick and find value in moving Bargnani and Calderon, when there don't appear to be other takers.

Edit - Maybe Brooklyn sends a protected pick to Toronto.

But another player I wouldn’t mind seeing traded this season is Orlando’s J.J. Redick, who seems to have all of the qualities of a deadline-day target. He plays for a team that, while impressive in its efforts thus far, ultimately can’t make best use of his game. He’s in the final year of his deal on a team that really has no business re-signing him with so much extraneous salary already on the books. He does a little of everything, but has great specific value in helping to space the floor with accurate shooting and clever curls. His presence isn’t a defensive concession, and he can handle the ball somewhat reliably. That’s an incredible package of skills that shouldn’t take a king’s ransom to acquire. Everyone would win in such a scenario, with Redick — who could soon move from the plucky-but-grounded Magic to a legitimate playoff team — the greatest victor of all.
yeah, not Raptor related, but this is so on point. Redick is a dope pick-up at $6 mill expiring. He is also an underrated passer. The T-Wolves should go after him. He's white and they need a SG.
