Just waisting your time throwing up old stats. Surely you have better things to do? Your bantering isn't going to make Bargnani disappear.

He's on the team, you support that team, so live with it.

they are stats from 2008, 2009, 2010, the 2011 season and the 2012 season so I guess they're insignificant.

Yes, I support the Raptors and hope they do well but I don't wear rainbow coloured glasses. I'm not big on homer-ism.

So you are implying that anyone who's defending Bargnani is a homer?

How you ever wondered why I'm not debating with you? It's not worth it... We are not even into the regular season yet.

Teams are trying to figure out plays, new teammates, defensive schemes. They throw out their garbage players in key times.

Just like it's wrong to put down players in preseason, it's too early to praise them too. Ya Ya we beat the Pistons thanks to Val's strong contributions in the 4th quarter.. (I'm not putting Val down, just using him as an example "JeffB") Do you remember Detroits 5 in the 4th quarter last Friday? Cause I have no idea who any of those guys were, it looked like a D league 5.

Point is, it's preseason.

Right now it's just pointless.

I'm just saying that some people can't fathom the raps without Bargs and love the positive things he does but neglect, ignore, or just don't care about when he does negative things.

I agree with you - it's still preseason. We can wait until the regular season to make more sound judgements. It's just after many seasons, you can understand why people might feel a certain way. The other board I'm on is a lot more neutral, no homers or haters at all. For those who think I'm a hater, I'm not. Bargs is an offensively skilled player, we all know that. Last season was the first where his positive contributions offensively outweighed his maladies defensively - ie the team was net better with him on the court. (via 82 games.com - the Raptors let in 3.1 points more per 100 possessions (D) with him on the court but also scored 5.3 points more per 100 possessions (offense) with him on the court - a net positive of 2.2 points with him on the court.) Hopefully that continues this season.

Well said, by the way I am by no means suggesting he's been great so far this preseason, because in reality he's been pretty bad, but not as bad as some are suggesting.

His shooting is completely off, he's late on defensive assignments, and he's a tad slow up and down the court.

Those are things that can be fixed through conditioning/practise and gameplay.

So I guess we will have to wait and see.

This. Also, this season will be very important for other players too: DD (extended, dealt, or qualifying offer), ED (time to show what he can do, finally having a full training camp, not shortened, without injury) and lastly Lowry (who, much like Bargs, last season played at an all star level for some part of the season).
