After last year I expected Bargs to hit the floor running this year. I thought he would be trying his hardest to play like an all-star this year. Instead he comes into camp out of shape. He says he knows his shot isn't going down so he's concentrating on defense and rebounds - and then he gets 1 rebound in 22 minutes in the first game?

I clearly remember in that first game Bargs shooting a 3 that was short and the rebound came within 5 feet of him and he couldn't be bothered to get it. How about if you know your shot is short then you anticipate where the rebound will go and then you dunk the offensive rebound like a beast?

I hope Bargs plays like an all-star this year because it's the last year I'll give him any slack.

I think "fatigue" can become a good excuse both for AB and Casey for benching AB, without alerting the league. Until the lump is traded!

Would you have prefered if he spent the summer playing for the Italian National Team, and came into training camp in game shape, but a possible risk of getting injured again?

He spent the summer training and strengthening his Calf so that we wouldn't have a repeat of last year.

This preseason is basically his time to work out the kinks and get back into game shape, whereas other plays are already in game shape and just figuring out how to play with new teammates and learn new offensive schemes.

I am not too concerned with Exhibition games. I think we will get to see Bargs at his usual self once season opens. I expect his scoring to drop a little with Lowry and JV and Fields/Ross putting up more shots ...

Did he actually say “... actually, I just think about defence, try to get rebounds. ....”

Maybe it is a language thing or too much pasta and sooze...just sayin'

Hilarious thread... you all need to go look at the FG% for every single NBA team in pre season right now.... everyone is shit.... they are just getting rolling yo. Bargnani will be fine, dude has talent, talent is hard to come by. You can find ways to create effort, you can't create talent.

who do you say is better, really. lowry? hasn't played a single game for us yet, and had a massive drop in form off an injury. you can't possibly say he's better. who else, val? i hope not, cause he may be, in 3-4 years, but certainly not now. Derozan? please, is slowly getting better at D but offensively, if he was the number one option, he'd have 20 turnover's a game.

carp, Sj, where are you guys? help me out!

Lowry is a better overall player. Really, you mention Lowry having a massive drop in form off an injury and yet you mention Bargs.

lowry has not, and I repeat, has not played a game for us yet. We have to see how he does in this system first.

yes, he has not played a game in a Raptors uniform. however, he's a very good overall player. if one were to compare him to the other players on the roster one would say he's the most well rounded player.

most well rounded doesn't necessarily equal best... you're trying to manipulate us by suggesting an opinion is a truth.

He is known for his d, rebounding, being able to penetrate opposing teams' d, he can stroke it from long range and he can create for others too.

Andrea Bargnani NBA & ABA Statistics | Basketball-Reference.com

Kyle Lowry NBA & ABA Statistics | Basketball-Reference.com

notice the win shares and win shares/48 minutes.

btw, you're also suggesting an opinion is a truth.

The pre-season is almost worse than the off-season.

Drummond's looked pretty good.... and he's a rook.

And the Raps been trying to find a way to "create effort" when it comes to Bargs for what? 6 years now? Do we give him an even decade before we write him off?

Good example to use, a guys who's played how many fucking nba regular season games?

He had one good game against us in preseason when our defence played like absolute trash, but ya Drummond's looked pretty good, he should be a shoe in for the all star game at this pace right.
