I like Larry Sanders... and he's better than Ed or Amir... but he's not much different just more athletic.

The Drummond suggestion is nice, but I doubt they do that..... though AB and Monroe could be a beastly combination. Detroit could really benefit by dumping a bad contract as well and we're going to stink anyways so we can absorb it for a couple years until our prospects develop.

I don't mind the first round pick way as well.

Andrea Bargnani and Linas Kleiza for Markieff Morris, Kendall Marshall, Wesley Johnson, and first round pick.

either make a package and try to get an all star player, who can give immediate impact, or settle for the future and try to get some future first round picks for bargs; i don't see another possibility for drastic change and that is what we need!

if you go by the future and the picks, i don't understand, why there still are three mediocre players involved in your trade, who won't get our team anywhere and just lay on our cap like a stone

I'm not eniterly intrigued by the players coming our way, it's meant to also make salaries match. Instead of a package focusing on two late to mid round picks, I would want the Suns unprotected pick which could be anywhere from 5-10. If they happen to win the lottery (though unlikely) even better. I can't really see a team below the Suns offering us their pick. That would be my choice if we go in the pick direction. Added bonus Kleiza gone or alternatively we can try to send Fields (even better).
We're not even sure of Bargnani's value at this point. Right now reportedly there aren't any teams making offers. I don't think he is untradeable, but I would still want a high first rounder for him. I would prefer a package around Drummond or Sanders though.

Main difference among others with Sanders and Amir/ED, is he can effectively play the centre position on most nights. That's a nice asset to have, especially given the price tag for effective centres these days.

If DET gave Drummond away for Bargs Piston fans would tear down the Palace with their bare hands lol.

I'm not so sure. They've got a horse in Monroe, who is better than anything we've got inside by a wide margin. He and Drummond may not blend that well, who knows. Besides, it wouldn't just be Drummond.. I'm sure it would be him and a few bad contracts.

I wouldn't do it if I were Detroit. The GM did however, partially mortgage their future away by giving a first round pick just to get rid of Gordon. With Monroe already there, I wouldn't be surprised to see a package of Maggette plus Drummond for Bargnani.

Even though that's a nice deal I think they'd prefer to save more caproom by getting rid of their worst contract (CharlieV - expires next season at almost 8.6 million). CharlieV and Drummond for Bargs. Obviously I'd prefer Maggette and Drummond but I think Detroit would want to save some caproom. However, you never know what will happen with JD running the show

I really can't understand the Ben Gordon trade, especially when they still had the amnesty option at their disposal.

Magette has one less year and they may still use it on CV.... not every owner wants to spend money on a player that won't play at all. They use real money.... lol

They wanted to save $. There is almost no way that BG doesn't use his PO next season of 13.2 million. That's the cost (the pick) that Detroit pays for getting rid of that salary.

When your a middle of the pack NBA team, you might consider doing that. Why in the world would they give a pick with that kind of protection just to shed salary? At least we got Lowry back. I would have given them Calderon for Gordon. They should have made it lottery protected. I wouldn't be surpised that this pick comes back to haunt them one day.

the first-round pick going to Charlotte is lottery-protected in 2013, top-eight protected in 2014, top-one protected in 2015 and unprotected in 2016.

The Spurs' deal was a lot better. They shipped Jefferson's contract for Stephen Jackson who had one less year and gave up their pick which was 30th. Now that makes sense.
