I think Josh howard is over rated, and with his public troubles, probably not someone for a team coached by Sam Mitchell. But i mostly don't want him because I don't think he is worth it for us. For that kind of a risk, I would WAY rather have Stephen Jackson or Ron Artest. However, imagine if somehow we could pry them both!!! Artest Can play shut down D and be that third or even 2nd scorer some nights. Jackson would really give us that slashing wingman that can score, and also help our teams lack of toughness issue that showed in the playoffs. I know this was thrown out there earlier, but I really think this could be HUGE for the raps. Since we are only talking 1 or 2 year gamble with JO, why not go "All In" so to speak and reunite the trio that finished with the best record in the East a few years back, but throw in Calderon and Bosh!!!. If we could trade Barg's, Joey G, Kapono and a first round pick in 09 (which prob wouldn't be that high anyway). I would rather keep AP then Kapono, he makes less $$, plays better D, and can hit the open shot almost as well as Kapono. Now that they are a bit older and wiser, I think they could keep it together for 2 years. And if your going to gamble, why not go all in for the next 2 seasons, and then totally revamp if necassary when the contract come to an end. I haven't checked on their contracts but I don't think either one of them has too many years left.

If we could pull this off somehow, then we could have a starting lineup of:

1. Calderon
2. Jackson
3. Artest
4. Bosh
5. O'neal

Bench:

6. Parker (could be a great 2nd line scorer off the bench IMO)
7. Moon
8. Ukic
9. Humphries
10. Adams
11. Jawai

round off the roster with:

12. Benson (sign the rebounding rookie big man as cheap insurance to Jaws)
13. Brezec ( I think we could get him relatively cheap, and he's not bad for a reserve)
14. cheap veteran PG
15. who cares really....

I think we would be SOLID!!! and theres no way that roster gets pushed around by anyone!! I really think this is one of the best Trades the Raptors could feasibly pull off this offseason. What do you guys think? Do you think they could keep it together under Mitchell, along with the calming leadership of guys like Bosh and Parker already in the locker room?

If you don't want Artest, what about Barg's,Graham and an 09 pick for Jackson and Salmons?

Stephen Jackson? No thanks. SJax is still on the Warriors, so where are you getting Salmons and SJax in the same trade from?

There's no way I trade Bargs for Gerald Wallace. No way. We already have O'Neal who is a wildcard for us. No sense in dealing for someone who's another wildcard.

Since we're all getting crazy here, how about Bargs, Kaps and Joey for Joe Johnson?

Atl gets a promising and unique big in Bargs to Pair with Horford(ideal match), great outside shooting in Kaps, and joey for filler.

TO gets and awesome starting lineup btu really sucks with depth.
Jose/Ukic
JJ/Adams
AP/Moon
Bosh/Hump
JO/Jawai

Idiotness (don't even know if thats a word) aside, Jackson is a helluva ball player and for the price that he is I'd consider it. But not straightup for Andrea. Throw in a pick and I'm game. That's what having no faith in Andrea does to ya.

I'd do Bargnani for Howard and Jackson in a second

I think aren't considering the possibility that Bargs comes up with another season like last one and ends up with no value at all. Jackson and Howard are above average wing players who could potentially push us over the top.

Jackson is a chucker, pure and simple.
heres a guy who shoots 40% from the field... 40%!!!!!! thats ridiculous... especially since he takes 17 shots a game.
you guys get upset when Bargs throws up crap from all over... jackson's shot selection is even worse, he MISSES 60% of his attempts.
sigh...
the last thing we need is a chucker who is going to take a shit load of bad shots away from our main guys, get on smitch's nerves, and possible disrupt the chemistry this team has.
no thanks.

Tracey McGrady shot 41% last year meaning he missed 59%of his shots..Thats almost as ridiculous!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
There is no way I would want him on this team.

There's a big difference between Tracy McGrady and Stephen Jackson. McGrady shoots his shots with double teams; Jackson just shoots when he gets the ball.

Honestly he is no worse than Artest...he isn't my favorite choice of swing to acquire but he isn't bad...I would rather JRich as far as obtainable players but my favorite would be Joe Johnson.

I'd MUCH rather Artest. The guy is a former DPOY and he can still bring it defensively. His off the court issues aren't anywhere near what SJax's are.

As for JRich, Jordan LOVES JRich, so I can't see they giving up on him so easily.

The only concern is AP at the SF..Should we have him off the bench for JJ and have Moon start?
We can always sign fillers for the minimum..
Yeah that's some small-ass line-up on the bench. Sign Benson,JC,JOEL BOSH,and some vets and we're ready to rumble. Maybe even Flip Murray!-Thanks to whoever reminded me in another thread.
I can also see a Parker,Bargs,Graham for Rip deal. His contract expires in the summer of LeBron-So does JJs; and in the mean time he could be some real help to the Raps.
