A sign-and-trade is where one team signs a player to a contract and trades him to another team. And its done to allow the team acquiring to obtain a free agent player at a higher salary or a greater number of years than would be allowed under the cap.

It's obviously allowed in the league or else it wouldn't have been made up.

I know that but it can happen with a UFA or an RFA, that does not matter... At least I don't think it matters.

Small SGs can work if the PG is a defensive stud who can cover 2s, like Hinrich was doing in the year Chicago won 49 (not to mention Chicago's entire system was pretty outstanding defensively, they could cover his lapses). But when they tuned out Skiles and Hinrich randomly started sucking on d, it didn't work.

Small SGs work. Gilbert Arenas doesn't.

So much for the Eropean born players in Raptor land? The last few seasons BC brought in Bargnani,Rasho,Brezec,Delfino,Garbo to go along with Calderon and Slokar. Many called us the "Euro Raptors" and the Raptors were apparently the most attractive destination for European born players. Now everyone of those Euro born players BC brought in except for Bargnani are gone.

The only Euro players we have with any significance are Calderon (Babcock),Bargnani and UKIC (Babcock). We are no longer the most Euro centric team in the NBA.It's not a bad thing or a good thing either way, just an observation. And if Bargnani goes for another American born player???

I remember there was an article, I forget which magazine....it was either SI or a Raptors game day magazine from last year about how more than half the team is European and stuff like that. I wish I knew where it was from I would read it again. But it was a really good article and obviously the same year they won Atlantic Division.

Don't forget Parker, although i realize he is american born, he developed his game overseas, and is thought of as one of the top Euro performers all time. The main thing is improving the team, whether were European, White, Black, or Purple it doesn't matter, kind of disturbs me when people start noticing these things...remember that baseball article that singled out JP as a racist, every team wants to get better, at that point in time the most efficient way for BC to improve his team was to sign players from overseas, becuase Gheradini and him had a better grasp of players ability than the majority of NBA franchises...it was cheaper and just as efficient as using NBA free agency, when it comes down to it, all that matters is putting fans in the stands and winning ball games, what race the players are is of no regards...

I knew that would be brought up.That's why i said European born.AP was born in the U.S and played in the states in College and then in the NBA after being drafted. He went to Europe where can thrive and play more minutes (as a starter)and certainly took advantage of his opprtunity, but he learned to play in the U.S.

If we were to trade bosh, i would only trade him for a couple of rookie scale contract...like young and smith from philly. depth and potential. i don't like laying all of our eggs into one basket.....that and i don't like half of the players you're talking about.

I would never trade Bosh. Even if it was for another All-Star. He's still 24 and he'll definitely get better throughout the year.

If this is true the Raps should offer
Kaps, Bargs and Joey
to Dallas for
JHoward and Eddie Jones

Dallas gets another outside threat who would look good getting feeds for Kidd and a doubled Dirk. Get Bargs who would learn from Dirk. and Mr. Versatility

TO Gets a starting SF and a good six man in Eddie-scoring punch of the bench

I say unless this isn't a game changer or a very promising young kid, we don't trade Bargnani. There's really no name out there that really entices me all that much.

Hey, I like Josh Howard as much as the next guy, but I don't see him as "the guy" who would make us compete with the West. He's just not that great of a clutch preformer and that's what I'd want in return. A guy who can bring it in the 4th and not disappear.
