Question Is Bargnani an All-Star this year?

I know this question was posed a while back, but now that the game is alsmost upon us and he's picked up his play considerably, is he going to be selected by the coaches?

I think Lee and/or Horford will get the nod before him.

Seems like the only thing that will continue to hold him back are those rebounds. If he wants to be an all star, he'll need 3 - 3.5 more per game.

Dwight/Perkins/Lee/Horford are all playing better than him. And Shaq will get in because of fan voting.

He isnt quite there yet. If he performed all year the way he has for the last month or so then yesd.

Dwight will always be there because he is a "name" and Horford is a real solid kid. Its down to Lee and Bargs for the 3rd possible spot as that PF/C spot and I put Horford ahead of him right now.

Besides, 2 guys aint going from the same losing team.

Why not Perkins? He's a better ball player than Bargnani for sure.

Because he's had a real up and down year.

And I like Bargnani too.. I think he's almost an all-star and if he gets the nod, I wouldn't be surprised or shocked at all.

But Kendrick Perkins is amazing. 2nd best Center in the east without a question.

Perkins is a real solid talent, but the allstar game is about bringinbg in fans to the game, and Perkins doesnt fill seats. Add that there is other talented guys at his position and there will be least 2 guys from his team already going.

Horford is a pretty exciting player.

hopefully Bargs will make it in the future for many years, but he aint there yet.

I love Perkins play but it makes it a lot easier when you have the guys around you that he does.....

I don't think Perkins is a 2nd option to score (he certianly isn't a first).... He works hard on the glass and on D and can put back some hustle plays for points but I wouldn't trade Bargs for Perkins.

Bargs is not a 5. So Perkins' strengths are Bargs' weaknesses and vice versa

For one the biggest critics of Bosh, you do realize if Bosh leaves the Raptors become a lottery team for a couple years. Not too many teams with losing records have all-star players. If you will become borderline all-star like Bargnani next year in a losing team, no way coaches vote you in the all-star game. So your assumption of "Bargnani making it in the future for many years" contradicts your opinion that the Raptors should not keep Bosh.

I didn't say he hasn't.

I assumed you meant Perkins in the grand scheme of things, not who was better between the two.

No i dont think so.

Bargs role will indeed expand and the team will just go a different direction.
If Bosh goes and we dont let him leave for nothing this team will be just as effective with a defensive bigman(pf or center whatever) and a continued growth for Damar the wing this team will be at least as good next year as it is this year, maybe even better if a better balance is reached offensively with at least one defender in the lineup(either sg/pg or center/pf)

No.

David Lee is having a better season, and people look more into Horford's rebounding totals.

I don't think he's been consistent enough to be considered an allstar yet but with more production then I think next year he should be considered... at least IMO.

Look at Kaman though, that dude is right when saying he deserves to be a starter rather than Gas-hole and Bynum.

If Bosh leaves, this team is a lottey team. Bargnani has improved going to the basket this year, but not enough to get the free throw line often. Bosh is the only threat inside. You know why Bargnani and Hedo struggles at back to back games, or 3 games in four night, they have no legs on their shots. That's why you have to be a threat to the go to the rim more often. Bosh was able to go the all-star with losing or winning teams because he was threat to go inside or shoot the jump shot.

As is Bargs.

Bosh got in the first couple of seasons because he was a solid offensive player and he played in a different country.

And in his first selection, for example, the team was turning a bit of a corner, Bosh scored a few more points per than Jamison, but Washington already had 2 players on the team. After Jamieson the stiffest competition was Ruben Patterson.
