So i guess Forbes is our backup SG now? Or does Bayless play some 1 & 2 with Forbes sharing some duty at SG?

As mentioned by many previously, picks are harder and harder to come by. I guess, as hard as it is to believe, this is the best he could do.

David Aldridge is saying the same thing, just a second rounder. Unless BC is setting up cap room for another deal, I don't get this at all.

Probably not, he probably got offered a player somewhere..... he wasn't going to get a first rounder for a two month rental and he didn't want to take on salary therefor a 2nd is what we get.

I guess we can package our 2nd round pick with Indy's and get the #1 pick in the 2nd round

The Pacers are under the CAP so they can absorb Barbosa's contract. Hey BC, why couldn't you do this a few weeks ago, so we could have offered Wilson Chandler a better contract.

This is a good trade.

It helps us be worse, we at least get something in return rather than nothing if he just walks at the end of the year - which he may have told them he would and we took no salary back.

I guess we're officially tanking...

Also, how is Indi gonna make playing time for both Barbosa and George Hill?

There was probably a deal out there that was slightly better but BC wanted to preserve cap space at all costs. No other playoff team had the cap space to take LB back without sending salary back.

Why not just let him expire then?

Because then he would leave for nothing. A second round pick is an asset, despite what some may think.

Mehh, we already have a 2nd rounder, which is nearly useless.

yes, but if handled correctly, it could be the trade the pacers regret for the rest of their lives!!!!!!

Cant believe we just got a 2nd rounder though for Barbosa. He's worth more than that. But hey he might sign him bac in the offseason, so who knows. With a semi deep draft, you could find some gems in the 2nd round. or raptors/Indy 2nd round and Raptors 1st for 2012 1st overall pick
