Casey and his staff don't get paid by getting Demar Derozan points, they get paid for having team success. I would have to assume that in their own best interests, they've develop a system that they think maximizes the team's effectiveness, not Demar's.

I further think that since the team (once again) has the best record since the Gay trade, won the 3 seed which is quite an accomplishment, and has now just won their first playoff game, that it is likely that this team is not driven by some abstract desire to maximize one player's output, but driven to win basketball games. Maybe they are one and the same, but nonetheless, they're playing to win. 1st option, 2nd option. Call it what you will. Dude just nailed two smooth jimmies to win the Raps their first playoff victory in quite a while.

Doesn't he deserve credit? Look at the results.

not trying to take anything away from him, just admitting I can see the other side of the coin as well.

I think they should be referred to as a band of outsiders, or bande a part as Godard would put it.

You spell out number under ten or if you start the sentence with it, and use digits for those over ten. Its correct. i review for a living... pet peeve.

Yeah. If only auto-correct worked as intended, eh?

I assumed a typo and the fearless auto-correct, most likely of iOS variety, leaping into action.

He's going to look bad at times going up against multiple defenders and schemes designed to make him play to his weaknesses. There is even room for growth with ball handling, but to suggest he has a below average handle and yet manages to get to the rim like he does, and manages to knock down pull up jimmies off the dribble like he does, makes no sense.

secondly - Lowry gives the ball up to Demar and Ross all the time when he isn't pressured, let alone when he is pressured. There isn't an exteme pressure on Lowry to make a play every time down the court because other players can't handle the ball - that just isn't happening - I have no idea where you see that going on.
Still not clear?

Still not clear, please demonstrate if you can, I don't think you can though. I would love to know why the guy who scored 30 is the weakness, please

the ball stuck far too much with him tonight and he took some really stupid shots at times. he's not why we lost by any stretch but he seems to be reverting back to bad habits imo.

He's the reason we got the lead in the 1st with some great assists and solid passing. Right now he's getting nothing easy, but more importantly, nobody else is doing anything, including Lowry. Lowry's best move this series has been trying to draw a foul. There has been absolutely nothing more consistent then Demar. His teammates are relying on him, not wishing he passed the ball more.

I think he could have tried to drive a few times tonight where he opted for a jumper, but all things considered, he carried us in the first half. Second half he struggled with the jumper but made a few and still got to the line. There were two starters tonight who simply didn't contribute at all. Suggesting it was lear Demar was a weakness is fucking stupid. to be direct.

The man in line for a new big contract and the heir to DD's throne need to play better period....I won't say any names but I'm sure people could put 2 and 2 together.

No doubt - it's telling when Salmons comes in and can find two mid-range jumpers, but Ross finds himself trying to cross over people out by half court leading to turnovers. There is a very long way for Ross to go.

I am confused. I thought we were discussing my point about weak handle being a major flaw of our starting five outside Lowry and the source of most of these turnovers. I've never singled out DD specifically, although he should dribble the ball much better by now.

As far as the number of points - don't care too much. The whole team is pretty inefficient offensively, so won't talk about DD in that regard either.

going back to the band of brothers camaraderie thing- i really liked during a time-out how de colo was enthusiastically/strongly telling DD something and DD was listening intently and agreeing. Good sign.
