Default Backdoored again... lol

From the “You got to be kidding department’’: There are backroom whispers Toronto and the Los Angeles Lakers are working on a sign-and-trade deal, er steal, with superstar Chris Bosh heading to Tinseltown.

WOELFEL WORLD OF SPORTS: MU's Hayward on a mission

I really don't think it's a steal, but Raps would have to get something else of value or conditional considerations.... Bynum beside Bargs would be awesome "if" healthy...

When healthy, Bynum is a beast. The problem is he's having knee surgery in a few weeks. So that's taking a big risk. If healthy I like him a lot and he's young. But I would not trade Bosh for any kind of question mark. Unless the medical records are better then they appear to be.

I thought Bosh wanted to be "The Man"

Now hes going to be argueably 3rd fiddle behind Kobe and Gasol?

In 3 years, that team would be his..in the meantime, he gets a chance to win a ring right away

Do Bosh's knees hold up for three years though? That's a BIG question.

In three years, he could be a shadow of his prime.... guys like Garnett, Jamison seem to drop off relatively fast when their explosiveness hits a wall... I'd be wary of Bosh as a max contract for 3 more years in three years from now.... but that team would be awesome for the next three years.

That's if this is true. If Bosh is insiting he wants to go to LA then make them take Jose and give us Bynum/Odom/brown in return.

leave brown, give us the 1st rounder, even as late as it is. Probably colangelo's angle anyways.

Why? He's never had major knee issues. Never had major knee surgery. Hard to predict, but he isn't Bynum which is the player you should be woried about, since if this is true that's who we're essentially stuck with.

Bynum's latest injury is a tear of meniscus - nothing too serious and, probably, the least injury one could have with one's knee. I am not sure if he's torn either of his ACLs or MCLs - those are much harder to come back from.

Knees aside (and those are for the team doctors to evaluate, not us), Bosh for Bynum would be one of the better deals available for the Raps this summer. However, it's not such a hot deal for LA:

1. Buss is trying to save money and adding another max (or close to) contract to the extensions already signed by Kobe and Gasol and Odom's and Artests' salaries is not the way to do that.

2. While Bynum is an ideal complement to either Gasol in LA or Bargnani in Toronto, Bosh is not, at either end of the floor.

Garnett never had major knee issues before Boston.... but if Bosh ever has, his major advantage could be more easily nullified on the court.... it's not like he can rely on his defence like Garnett has.

In 3 years Bosh will be 29. KG didn't start hitting a wall until what 32. Jamison is 33 and certainly didn't hit a wall at 29.

Traditionally, as a big gets older your concerns about his knees grow (see, Jermaine O'neal and Kevin Garnett). Bosh already has a lot of wear and tear in them. So yeah, 3 years from now I'm gonna be concerned about him.

Bynum is risky BECAUSE he has knee issues this young and he IS a big man.

Oy boy! I've said several times in the past I'm leary of any player with knee issues, especially bigs. But to make any comment on a major knee injury that Bosh may or may not have in the next 3-5yrs is pointless. If any player in the league has a major knee injury/surgery it can hurt their career. But it's all moot if it hasn't happened yet.

7 ft with bad knees and a history of injury problems ... too risky.
Rather get less w(players with potential) with 1st round drafts included.

I was ok with the idea of the Bosh and Bynum move prior to the latest Bynum injury.

His contract could end up being a detriment as opposed to adding value.

You don't trade a star for something that could very likely end up actually hurting your team. Sure you may not get value back but you don't trade something good for a potentially awful big contract.

No thanks to Bynum!

Just out of curiosity.. what exactly makes Bynum a "beast"?

He's playing on a great team right now with arguably the best player in the league AND one of the best PFs.

I just worry that if we got him his 15 & 8 would look a lot less impressive than it does right now.
