Back up PG?
Since it looks like T.J will be gone within the next 4-6 weeks,if not before the season.Who could we get to back up Jose if this happens.Where are the rumors about who'll back him up? Everyone wants a secondary scorer,a big man,a veteran. Yet we're not really hearing anything out there about Jose's possible back up.Will it be done from within,if we re-sign Delfino i guess he's a possibilty (Don't think so but..),Ukic could be the guy but i don't think he's ready.

If/when they trade T.J and lets say we get a secondary scorer, what would our next move be?A back up PG or a Veteran that can help on the boards?

I could just see it happen, T.J is traded then early in the season Jose goes down with an injury and Ukic is next in line!! That would be Toronto's luck, trade an injury prone PG only to lose Jose for a substantial amount of time and not have an NBA ready PG to play all those minutes.

damon for the vet.min. we shouldn't be relying on a rookie to lead the second unit, and we need someone who can let calderon rest. get a fix for a year or two so we can see what roko is made out of.

Yeah I think a veteran PG to handle the role until we know Roko's ready, would be good.

I like Anthony Johnson a lot, if we can sign him fairly cheap, I'd take it. I'd even settle for White Chocolate

Let's sign Jay Will to a MLE. =D

I'm dead serious. Lol no I'm not. I don't really want point blank 3s at crunch time anyway.

Duhon, Lue, Anthony Carter, Dickau...

Slim pickings...

Anthony Johnson would be great. lol

I really like Duhon's game. He's solid. And he loves Toronto.

Of those available to sign, Duhon or Anthony Carter would likely be the best options. Both are pretty seriously limited though. Otherwise, BC may try to get a veteran PG back when making a trade involving TJ. Most of the proposed deals I've heard involve at least one other player from our end, usually Rasho or Joey, or draft picks. So if we're giving up two players, or a player and a draft pick, we would likely be getting a couple back. (Although given that the Clips are the most popular rumour, Im not sure we'd want a point guard back) And even if BC grabs a 2nd rounder via a trade, there arent many 4 year savvy point guards in this years class, and the Raps sure as hell arent going with a pg at 17.

Basically, whatever happens, Jose will be expected to play 35+ next year.

yeah, but both duhon and anthony will ask for serious money, around MLE. Not worth it imo, we have bigger holes to cover ...
