So, yeah, assess the first half of the season.

Was it what you were expecting? Anything encouraging? Discouraging?

I knew this team was gonna be garbage. Didn't think they would be this bad but meh.

I think the first half was alright. We showed more heart and hustle this year and it was just too bad that we were plagued with injuries. Imagine if the Raps had gone without any injuries to players. What I was expecting was development, seeing our young guys run the court, gain some chemistry and gain some experience. I was expecting a lot from Amir, DD, and Weems. DD is improving well and the same with Amir. Weems is still in the air but again he was injured for 20 games. I was expecting some trades too, the Jack/Bayless trade was good and I'm expecting more trades to come. What was encouraging was the development of our players and the heart and hustle we're showing. Our defense on some odd nights have been encouraging, but thats something to work on. What was discouraging was some play calls by refs and some lack of efforts some games. Also Bargs defense

I'm hoping for a better second half and some good trades before the deadline. I hope everyone is ready to go after the All-Star break and at least win some games. If we get into the playoffs, great then we achieved the goal set out by Triano. It wouldn't be bad necessarily to make the playoffs. Other than that, I just hope to see our players develop and improve nicely over the second half of the season.

particularly what pleased me was Ed davis's improvement, DD's 20+ consistance(most nights lately) and jose's comeback. i really think he is and will be our vet guy in the future. maybe not a starter, but a kirk heinrick type of player. i say resign him after his contract is up, but no more than 3 mil/year. other than that, nothing really has excited me.

What impressed me is DeRozan, Davis and Bayless.. they are the future of the franchise, I really don't care what Bargnani does anymore because he is garbage.

Looking forward to finding a two way SF for this young core.

About what I expected and hoped for. Encouraged by Ed, and Demar (I guess) to a lesser extent.

raps were on track for my expectations and then injuries derailed everything. my refocused expectations are now in 'operation get a high draft pick' mode, so things are working out quite well.

like others, i love what i'm seeing from davis and derozan. Bargs is his usual oscillating self, but at least his ups are more common and more effective.

i like the roster moves that have happened so far. i would have loved to see more out of the peja contract, but it's too late now. still hoping for a Calderon trade or the effective use of a big chunk of the tpe.

Kleiza's looking like a bench player, Barbosa has been a nice surprise, Bargs blows outside of the "good offensive game", DeRozan is coming along, Calderon isn't doing so bad, Davis and Amir are doing great, and they'll get a high draft pick. This is nice, Raps needa stock up on as much young talent as possible.

I expected 30+ wins, without injuries that could have been attained perhaps.

Disapointed by- Bargnani's overall consistency, Kleiza (although injured most of the first half), Jack (when he was still here), Triano (still sucks), Weems (i expected a little more from him, chucker).

Encouraged by- Bayless, Davis, Derozan, Amir (part of the future core of this franchise). Barbosa (great spark off the bench).

Can't to see what will be done in the summer at the draft, w/capspace, TPE?, Jose?

Hopefully Colangelo gets extended soon.

Ugggggggggggggaaaaaaaaallllleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee eee....

I think that sums it up....

Some bright spots for future from DD and Amir. I think Jose fits the bill for awhile if he had someone to pass to in middle. Jared may improve but I think he has on and off switch much like Barbosa...

I liked J Wright and spark he gave... Kleiza and Weems are interchangeable exc3pt Kleiza gives better D

The problem begins and ends with Il Muggo ...he has no basketball IQ... he never makes a stop when it counts nor grabs a rebound... the Raps do [would] play better with 2 defensive bigs

Jack summed it up last game when he said Raps had hit a new low.... no defensive effort no shooting.. we need someone who can make his own shot preferably in low box...

maybe move Bargs to shooting guard and put another defender in the mix...

I would trade Bargs for draft picks or a sack of hammers....

he is awful....

Our best players are no longer our best players. Standouts from the first half: Ed Davis (killing it with hustle), Johnson (solid), DeRozan (decent). Bargnani playing like he's emerging from a coma.

If Bargs was a 20/10 guy with good defense, we'd be a playoff team. Instead he's a 20/5.5 guy who disappears 70% of the time on D. Very disappointing.

Happy with the way Amir, Davis, and DD have improved.

Was expecting more from others and was hoping Bargnani became more of a complete player. :/

Honestly, GREAT first half.

the young guys compete. They rarely get blown out, yet they re on tract for a kick ass draft placement.

I like it.

Never expected a good season. Maybe around 25 wins at most... I thought Andrea would come alive and actually rebound. Injuries have also hurt this team. The Raptors actually had some potential early in the year.

Ed Davis, Demar Derozan and Amir Johnson. Those guys i have some faith in going forward. A real distant fourth is Andrea Bargnani and the rest i don't even care about. For me the guy who'se stock has fallen the most is Jerryd Bayless. I was totally sold on his potential when i first saw him, but the more i see him the harder it is to convince me he is going to be a good PG. Mentally it's just not there. Now how much of that is just him playing in this atmosphere of complete suckage i don't know.

Still not liking Amir's contract moving forward, but it's not an albatross. It is however 'overpaying' IMO which just gets to me a bit given how this franchise just can't lose that trend.

As for the future, it's clear that nobody on this team has it in them to become the piece over just being a piece. I guess that's where this draft comes in and i can't stress how important it is going to be for Colangelo to hit a homerun and find a new team MVP. I hope they lose everygame from here on in so that the chances of that happening can improve. This draft is going to be a team defining moment.

Pretty much what you said. The injuries have been tough but they make a good excuse to be happy with the high draft pick hopefully coming our way.

Best thing about the 1st half of the season for me was the play of Reggie Evans.

I've been pleasantly surprised by the play of Davis and Amir and DD has shown some flashes.... on the whole though I've found that my willingness to watch the team is now at an all-time low. I think that I've only seen 2 or 3 of the last 10 games... and I really don't feel bad about it at all.

Too many injuries and too much flat out suckage for my liking.
