If he was 'ready' for that next step (6th man say) then they wouldn't have brought in a guy like Jamison to play the 6th man. His offence is related to the personnel on the court.
Yeah, i agree with this. We need to think bigger than Devin fuckin' Ebanks. Add Ebanks right now to Pietrus/Anderson/Fields/Kleiza and where does he fit in? Even if you take one of them out of the mix. He'd still be just another guy that is better suited coming off the bench. I just wish we could have a legit starter at every position for once.

Well i always say you wont know unless you give the player a chance to flourish. He cant flourish in L.A with their high expectations though. James Johnson was given a chance and although he was a knucklehead at times, he provided the Raptors with something when given the opportunity. Besides what do we have to lose in giving him a chance?

I would've brought in Jamison regardless, the man is playing on a veteran contract and wants that ring.

What did James Johnson provide? He was a SF, when we needed a SF, yes, so he filled in a role. But did you see a line up for his services? No. Why? Because he wasn't that good.

Ebanks is the same. He'd fill the starting SF role for us, but is he a piece? No, of course not. He's just a guy.

And thanks for proving my point. If he was anything more than a guy, they don't go after Jamison. They keep the kid on the cap friendly contract and go after something they need then.

There isnt a lineup for Johnson because of his unknown attitude problems. Johnson and Ebanks guys that will last in the NBA for 10+ yrs?

Of course hes not a piece but would he provide an upgrade to what we have? of course he would

Since D'antoni has become the L.A coach, Ebanks has been getting playing time unlike when Mike Brown was coaching. The only reason the Lakers brought in a guy like Jamison was they didnt think Howard would be ready on time

On a side note, I miss having a basketball conversation. Feels refreshing when school doesnt take up most of my time

lol at the school point.

Let me ask you, is he a significant upgrade or a slight upgrade over a guy like Pietrus?

If we're looking at just upgrades then we should look at guys like: Jason Thompson, Glen Davis, Ebanks, Batum, Barea, Collison (Nick and Darren) etc. They'd all be upgrades over the personnel on this team, but do they do anything that push us towards being a legitimate year in and year out playoff team? No. They make us slightly better now, but they're just guys.

Frankly, your SF should be one of your best players (either your best defender or your best offensive player). Ebanks doesn't fit either of those molds.

lol

I'd take a 50-50 chance on either player. Pietrus is injury prone which is why I'm basing it off if he can stay healthy.

Out of all those guys, Batum could possibly give us a push in starting a winning streak here and there but the rest of the guys wouldnt fit the team.

Fine he doesnt fit the mold of what a SF would be but I'd still like to see him on the team

I hope when BC gets fired, the next GM amnesties Jose just as a "fuck you" for the crappy service he provided this city the last 7 years.

Aahhh, no. Can't amnesty anyone until the summer and by then he'll no longer be under contract. I wouldn't have minded amnestying his ass this past summer to go hard after Batum.

you mean the guy who can't crack the rotation on a team that's bottom 5 in the league? That's your solution for our problems?

Ah ok, my bad. Well I hope the new GM that comes in amnesties Bargnani and then Calderon expires and we can move on from the Colangelo era
