I never understood the absolute hate for Sam from some! Two years ago BC gave him some players to coach and we tied a team high in wins and he got coach of the year (which i guess means squat?). Last year with alot of injuries the team goes to the playoffs again (disapointing ending though) and now we're 3-0 and people are bitching that the better we do,the longer Sam stays. As if it's a bad thing.Almost as if they want a change of coach, for change sake and something else to talk about.Every coach that's ever come here has been complained about. Some more then others, but this is Toronto.Fickle is an understatement.

When we got TJ Ford people asked why others wanted change... when we FINALLY had a "great PG".

Sometimes change is bad... but other times it's just what you need to get better.

Mitchell played a short rotation against teams playing short rotations. Nelson rode most of his starters for 40+.

So far, his rotations have been great!

Though I've been less than excited about smitch being the coach for over a year now, I think his decisions right now show that he's matured, and that the shortened line-ups has as much to do with guys playing really well and the bench being injured than it is about him trying to save his ass. I doubt he thinks that way, and if Solomon was healthy, he'd got the call in Milwaukee on saturday because roko looked shoddy.

playing starters for long minutes over many months is a recipe for disaster. If nelson does this on a regular basis, maybe there's a reason he never made it to the finals in his very long and otherwise successful career ... You're basically trading regular season success for playoff success with this approach. Having more minutes on a day to day basis will help you win more games, but the team will be dead tired in the playoffs.

That being said, I don't think the concern is with Sam playing the starters for so long in these 3 games, more with the danger of him doing this for the full season.

I hate seeing our starters have to play such heavy minutes after playing a game the night before... but when your bench has scored 6 points all night sometimes it has to be done.

Parker's minutes won't be so drastic when Adams comes back, and Caldy's won't when Roko inevitably improves throughout the season. For the record though I think the minutes could've been a little more strafed in particular for the Bucks game, instead of putting Roko in at the start of the 4th when the pressure's on, give him more minutes in the mid section of the game. But whatever.
