Arrow Armstrong: Wings The Bigger Story...

HELLO!!!!!!!!!

So much discussion these days in Raptor-land regarding who should be the starting point guard for the Toronto Raptors. Considering that they're both on the floor at finishing time in the final five minutes, it's not that big a deal to me because both Jarrett Jack and Jose Calderon play integral roles for Jay Triano.

Here are three areas that, in my opinion, affect the discussion that much more and should be the basis of truly how things get solved/improved in Raptor-Land. They all focus on the wing (2/3) positions. Here goes:

1. HEDO TURKOGLU: He was a good pickup by Bryan Colangelo in the offseason. Now, simply put he needs to play better and more consistently at the 3-spot to make more of an impact. He's a capable and good player. I'm not buying the fact that it's the 'scheme'. I think it's more of a matter of Hedo having to play at a higher level on both sides of the ball and the offense and the 'scheme' will work itself all out. Time to pick it up a notch. To whom much is given -- much is expected.

Jack writes the way he talks. I can almost picture him saying those words to Devlin.

If Belinelli could be a consistent role player, it would really make a big difference.

Belli belongs to clutch situations. And Triano was already warming up to the idea. Belli made weird decisions in consecutive games and final seconds, that cost him the spot.

He's a great passer and has defended pretty well but needs to show better decision making before I'd have him on the floor to end close games. He needs to be in more control when he drives to the hoop.

I just find Belinelli's shots such a gamble. Whenever he takes a spot up, balanced, what looks like a smart shot, he bricks it.... but he often does these crazy off balanced, leaner, flying through the air, mid - long range shots that go in. His shot attempts could be a new casino game.

I agree with what he's saying. Hedo has to shut up and play. I believe we'd be better off starting Belli over Derozan. He's a better catch 'n shoot player.

I don't think so, DeRozan just has so much versatility. Drives, can hit an open jumper. Ok on defense, just I love watching him dunk.
