Default Armstrong on Bargs

No homer here.

ANDREA BARGNANI: ...I supported him and his talent for a long time but he's disappointed me with his lack of improvement and true passion for embracing what it means to be a team player/leader. Numbers are nice but the thrill of winning and truly being engaged in the love of the sport and your teammates is most important. Time for a fresh start and hopefully for him he finds success. Nice guy, it just didn't work here. I wish it would have worked because you don't find guys often that can do what he can offensively. A shame because he's really gifted. Talent is nice but the other intangibles are an even bigger factor for a player. If he ever finds them, watch out.

Dude, this is a ringing endorsement of Bargnani's talent. If Bosh had AB's motor, he'd have been cut in his second year! Haha....

Jokes.

Plus one everywhere!

The article was posted before Bargnani returned to the lineup. I wonder if Armstrong's view has changed after seeing the "new" Bargs, yes I know it's just 2 games, but if he keeps playing with this chip on his shoulder and this sense urgency, I'm sure he will turn more than a few heads.

He has a chance to change the perception on him, but it's not going to be easy.... this is a hate-filled city! There is so much angst over the leafs ineptitude that it just spills over continually!

Go Raps!

Jeez, it only takes 2 games to change our perceptions of Bargs. That's even less time than the 13 game stretch where his fanboys proclaimed him to be an all-star! Seems the time required to make an educated assessment of Bargs' play gets exponentially smaller every time he comes back.

Next time all he'll have to do is step on the floor for a couple of minutes and he'll be considered an all-star again. After that, he'll just show up to the arena and be crowned the king.

you think two average games would change an opinion formed over 4-5 years?

It would take at least 2-3 months of consistent production to even start changing some perceptions, and most neutral observers would probably wait for a full season before reevaluating. Still, 2 strong months to close the year should at least restore some of its value.

I miss jeffb123.

I'm not sure if this new jeffb is aware of how awesome jeffb123 was.

Bargnani is so chill about this it's just fun to watch how upset some get over his mere presence. Kid can't be shook!

It took 7 seasons for Bargs to finally play the role that's best suited for him. Had this role been given to him earlier there would be less angst towards him, he would've signed a much cheaper extension and he would have a lot less expectations. Too little, too late.
