Exclamation Armstong: The kid gloves are finally off

Quote:
I found Bryan Colangelo's comments about him at a press conference last Monday to be quite revealing when he spoke about his rebounding and defence. Was I surprised by it? At this stage, no. Bottom line, when a player that you've bent over backward to try to nurture and bring along and develop and show support and patience with continues to frustrate/perplex you and puts your own livelihood on the line, you tend to say enough is enough. If Bargnani returns to the Raptors next season, he not only owes the organization, the fans, his teammates and himself a lot more, he owes Colangelo and Jay Triano greater commitment to everything being asked/demanded of him. He's been treated very fairly and at times they've enabled him too much. He has let them down. The "kid gloves" are rightfully off now and obviously should have been off way sooner. It's now or never. As a man, you look in the mirror and question yourself and what you stand for at this stage. Congrats to him on having a career year in points per game but how does it feel to be on a 60-loss team? Time to respond to the challenge. He CAN do it. Will he? Your guess is as good as mine.

Didn't really expect Jack to write all that but it's true. I think we should give Bargs up until the Trade deadline, if he doesn't play any better then we shuld look to move him

I have a feeling Bargnani will be here to start the season, and if he is still in idiot mode he will get traded before the deadline.

A leopard can't change his spots. Bargnani will always chuck up his shots, and be a defensive liability. Did Vince Carter all of sudden get the killer attitude and become the elite player that would dominate the NBA. Did TJ Ford become less of a ball hog, pass and make his teammates better and become a starting point guard in the NBA.

We'll be able to tell if Bargs is coming around at the beginning of training camp.

If I'm BC, and I see Bargs walk through the door in training camp and he's not in the best shape of his life, I get on the phone right then and start working out a trade.

It's now or never.

Did Darko become a serviceable center in the league? Can Demarcus Cousins become a professional basketball player? Can Amir reduce his tendency to foul?

These guys aren't leopards.

i understand ur point but those guys never had an issue with effort whereas playing with no heart is the common denominator with barg and vince

Mehhhh, he's ok as far as being in shape goes. But it's his overall motivation and the fact that he's lacking something between the ears.

I see Bargs getting traded at deadline if this continues. But no way is he getting traded this offseason.

i think even if Bargnani starts off next season re-energized and playing as expected, we shouldn't get happy too soon. its not anything we haven't seen before. he always starts off well and trails off.....or has good spurts here and there

if you think vince played with no heart in his first 4-5 years in the league, we weren't watching the same guy.
