Not sure how to reply to that, other than saying you are not loyal to a team and therefore have never been through a team during their down years.
anyone that 'really' loves basketball would watch all kinds of teams, not just the premier one(s). you can be a die hard raps fan and still watch any other game. it's just a nonsense point.

I think for the majority of the Raptors, they're young guys and you want them to succeed and they do want to represent the city well. And I think staying on board with a team, win or lose is a big part of being a sports fan and makes the difference between a basketball fan and a bandwagon jumper.

It all ties in with choosing a side and watching them grow and earn a championship, instead of seeing superstars come together expecting to win championships. I believe it isn't all about talent, a big part comes from heart and that's why I think Jordan (although supremely talented) is much more superior to Lebron.

Anyhow, I think, if nothing else, you can say that Demar, Amir, Acy, etc. all have heart and I gotta cheer for them. And they always get the short end of the stick because the league hates us, because of youth, etc. I really want to see all of them succeed.

On the other hand, you got Bargs who's completely passionless and has no interest in doing what it takes to win and you got stat padding hero man Alan Anderson. Those guys and BC's lack of direction made the Raptors hard to cheer for.

But I think the young guys, the fact that it's our team, and cause I think dinosaurs are cool are the reason why I have to cheer for them.

Yep. I would argue that watching only the best teams hardly offers proof of a love for basketball, but rather leans towards revealing something quite different. If you love basketball you should be able to get a bit of a kick watching a Canadian university game, or a game played in the Chinese basketball association.

Personally, I've always been a bigger fan of the game than I have been a fan of the Raptors. I would love to be able to see high quality games from a contender here on a regular basis. To me it would have more meaning to be able to see huge games live, particularly having gone through all the years of struggles. I will just never be able to have that same level of connection by watching other teams on league pass, nor will I be able to feel I can claim some tiny but not insignificant claim of ownership, even if it's just owning the fullest experience possible. That can only happen for me with this team.

Ya, because the Raptors have the same history as the Leafs. You're hilarious.

That said, I cheer for Toronto because they are the home team. Thats it.

Lebron is a mental freak...his efficiency this year at some point was unbelievable. He's better than Jordan, period.

This series would be over by now if MJ was in place of Lebron. Not to mention MJ is a MUCH better playoff performer than Lebron. That's not even debatable. Lebron COULD be better than MJ by the end of his career sure, but to say flat out that he's better than MJ right now is completely ridiculous. What has he done to earn such high praise?

excuse me? Flat out ridiculous? Whatever bud, nice talk. I apologize for not ever being fleeced by the NBA Stern driven hype machine they built in the 80's that propelled Jordan to stardom. Lebron is better, he is a better defender and he is a harder guy to stop. Put Lebron in Jordans spot on that Bulls team...HA, ok, think he isnt gonna win 7-8 rings?

the MJ myth is just that. He isn't even as good as Baylor or the big O

here's a fantastic article for you Thriller, it doesn't evn get into Stern and the NBA's compliance with the huge brands that they made cash from who demanded Jordans success...the phantom calls, etc. Unplug from the Matrix man.

You probably watched different MJ, or watching different Lebron. No LBJ would not have won 7-8 rings and guess what.. he won't
Lebron is incredible player by far the best at the moment, but to say flat out that he is better than MJ is ridiculous. LBJ still has a lot of trees to piss on before he is even in the discussion as the greatest ever

I kind of think Lebron was given his championship last year. Tons of calls were going against the Celtics and the Thunder.

Ok bud, I'm 40, I was there for his era, and I'm here for Lebrons, I know what I'm watching thanks, and to be honest, I'll take my basketball foundation, I'm happy with what I know. You're welcome to whatever you wanna believe, but using the word ridiculous when addressing my opinion is offensive to me so...you know, I believe a "go fuck yourself" is in order. But I say it with a smile... it's just sports... no actual harm meant LOG, promise.

You being 40 changes what? I watched MJ too and I'm watching LBJ, I don't question your knowledge or opinion, because you are intitled to it just as much as anyone else. However I question your statement that Lebron is already better than MJ..
For all I know he might be when everything is said and done, but right now he still has a lot of work to do.
There's pretty interesting video about those two
