I've only been to Toronto once, so I don't have much to say. At least this past season, I could kinda say they are on the right path... -___-

Reminds me of the unemployed guy, looking for a job for a couple of years and will take "anything" because he just needs a job.

At first, elated to be hired to a decent job, yet.........Three years on the job, and he's complaining about how intolerable it is and how he's only getting 3 weeks vacation and partial benefits.

There are about 30 cities that get NBA teams. We're luck enough to be one of them. A lot of fans in a lot of cities would give their left arm for a team to call their own.

LeBron definitely. I don't think anybody thought that MJ was juicing, but there's definite thought that LBJ might. He could play any sport that involves a ball and hands (Hibbert: No homo) and be a star.

There's a certain bond between a sports fan and their original favorite sports team that cannot be broken. Despite me being a huge basketball and NBA fan, I have never been able to cheer for another team as I do the Raptors, my spirit just can't be there. The closest I've come is to the Boston big 3 Celtics team because KG is my favorite player and I wanted him to win a title so badly, but even then it wasn't anywhere close to how much I cheer for Raptors ball, and still didn't get anywhere near the same feeling with them winning games as I did the Raptors. That's really the only thing keeping me hanging on at this point, because the ownership has taken a big dump on all of us nearly its entire existence. We're the new pre CP3 Clippers.

Jordan was a mental freak of nature, Lebron is a physical freak of nature.

its weird I lived in northern bc until I moved to the lower mainland, I was both a Raptors and grizzlies fan, more of raptor fan because of vince Carter though the guy was exciting, i'm still huge raptor fan to this day because of that

so knowing this team is from Canada, and when things are going great there is nothing more exciting to watch a raptor game in the playoffs, the way the fans are I can relate to that, those are my people in the stands

I do agree that it's lebron but its very very close. What jordan lacks in raw strength (which he's not exactly a slacker), he makes up for in speed. He looked like a rocket on the court.

Overall though, the top 4 physical specimen in NBA history are shaq, lebron, jordan, and wilt.

same, been a fan from day 1
some of it has to do with the fact that before the Raptors all the teams were in the USA so none of them were really "my team" due to location proximity and before the Raptors the NBA was kind of like an American league that had nothing to do with me and the rest of Canada, sure I like certain players and I liked basketball but it the league had nothing to do with me
I'm sure if I was American and my state or city didn't have a team I'd probably be a fan of the closest team to my location simply based off of the fact that the sports news would be reporting that team as my Home team
so by default I'm a Raptors fan, like probably 99% of all people they are fans of their "local" team
it has nothing to do with if the team is good or not or if they are boring or fun to watch, that just screams of bandwagon fans, jumping to the "in" team and leaving when they suck
I'm sure if I lived in like Charlotte I'd be a Bobcats fan, and they're just absolutely terrible in all aspects

For me story is quite simple .... I've been a BB fan since of was 10 years old ... My favorite sport to play recreationally and competitively was BB, and the Celtics were my team (Parish, Bird, etc) before the Raps. I was a BB fan first. I associated with Celts best .. not necessarily the best talent, but they were hardworking, team play focus, etc

For me the Raptors are like having kids that play sports you love. You still love the game, but when your kid is on the court/field/rink, etc ... it's your kid that gets the special attention, adoration, etc. You clearly want your kids team to win, while still enjoying a game you love. For this reason, I will always be a Raptor fan ... no excuses on my part.

I frankly can't understand how people jump from team to team based on them winning ... I almost see it as a character flaw. As a Senior Executive, I actually probe for these types of tendencies / behaviors when I interview people or make decisions on bringing new folks into my team.

have been a Leafs fan since birth
was a Yankee fan until 1977...converted to the Jays and have followed them ever since
was a Knicks/Lakers fan until 1995...converted to the Raps when founded

so i've probably suffered more than any other member on this board

prior to the raptors, i had my favourite team that had my favourite players, but what i didn't have was the local coverage. having full access to watch the Raptors come in from day one, they just grew on me over time.

Sorry, I live in toronto and people that laugh at the Raps are usually leaf fans. I'm only saying what my experience has been. Anytime I mention it you're there to say something and as in this case ignore the topic. Maybe you're obsessed?
