Anyone have any knowledge of the Raptors shopping barbosa? He can opt his contract next year and play for who he wants. he is making a lot of money next season if it commences so I am not sure he will do that.

i would hope that Colangelo is looking into it, but given Barbosa's injuries this season and the fact that he's going to have surgery once the year is done i don't know how many teams would be interested.

It depends what we get in return. I actually like Barbosa and would want him to stay here. But if we get a good piece for the future then I guess he might have to go.

Dude is a great veteran on this team... competes harder than alot of guys that have been here before him, has a very unique skill set, and is one of few players on this team that has actually been a part of winning teams. I hope he stays and is re-signed to a reasonable longer term deal.

Yep, he does have a unique skill set. I've never seen a guy who can kill an offensive flow like him. It's quite remarkable.

i hope so too. i'm starting to think that he will want to opt out of his deal. securing something long term with a winner prior to the new cba would be a lot more attractive than just playing out next year on a lottery-bound team and making and extra $1 mil or so that has no guarantee beyond the 2011-12 season. guaranteeing something like $6 mil per over 4-5 seasons would have to look pretty good to him.

Do you mean when he gets the ball on the wing, puts his head down and tries to create a 1 on 5 scoring opportunity for himself?

It was stalled because we didn't have a PG as both Bayless and Calderon were dealing with injuries.

And if he's been playing injured all year long, can you tell me when he suffered some sort of brain injury because much of what he does wrong on the court has nothing to do with his physical ability.

I would say BC is looking at anything that would improve the team especially if a move saves money or brings back a decent prospect or two.

That's entirely debatable.

I'd say career wise, Turk's had a better career and been a better overall player.

Barbosa has had a nice career with Phoenix where he never had to play defense.

If I could fit him in with the right set of players, I'd probably take Turk.

what? are you ok? some of your posts today have thrown me off but this just does it. Turkoglu is not a great basketball player. he is not even a good basketball player. he is barely an average basketball player. career wise, look at the winning teams he has been on, sactown, orlando, both freat teams with great stars at the time(cwebb, peja, dwight). yes he does hit some clutch shots but throughout the course of the game he is unvaluable to a team since he lets in multiple points in on the other end. even in fourth quarter situations all he can do is shoot dead on. he cannot penetrate, hes not nearly athletic enough. and on the defensive end once again plays horribly. look at the LBJ game winning shot from two playoffs ago, lebron made a great shot no doubt, but the defence was lacking. no hand even in the proximity of LBj's body. guess who was on him. oh yea, TURK. barbo is a servicable sixth man who when your team is going on scoring droughts will spark your team. yes sometimes he does overdrive but when your a sixth man and your known as the blur and you cant shoot the ball great, what do you do? drive, 8-10 times he makes a play driving. he is not a pg, but if playing on a winning team, in his right position and role, he can be deadly.

Turk from two seasons ago on Orlando in the playoffs was deadly... rarely has he done that.

Barbosa is instant offence off the bench... while wild and fierce, he plays a great role. He doesn't complain, slack or whine.... Teammates love him, and he is easy to like. I'd take Barbosa, though I understand why others wouldn't.

Barbosa is better than Turk. Turk can only play well when hes in Orlando's lineup. He struggled with other teams and couldnt do much, which reflects deeply on his individual performance. Turk was a beast with Magic, but seein how thats the only way he can be a beast , says taht i would have to go with Barbosa. Barbosa played nicely with PHX and plays just as great in TO, even with an injured wrist. He luvs the game no matter where he plays and accepts his role. He is helping Toronto much more than Turk did.

Great personality
Our best defender (in a kingdom of blind one-eyed man is the king, but stilll...)
A pain for opposing teams
and a perfect 6th man (BC obsession is to find one)

Won't hurt us in short or long term whatever the outcome.

Should get that surgery asap tho.

Same here, even though he had injuries problem this season, but I am sure he'll hit form once again.
