Unhappy Anthony Parker: I know Raptors want me but this is too good of opportunity to pass up

Quote:
Lots of stuff to catch up on today, and I’ll try my best, but wanted to quickly pass on that Anthony Parker’s days as a Raptor are ‘officially’ at an end. I got word very early this morning – or my phone did, as I was asleep – from his agent, Henry Thomas, that Parker will indeed sign with the Cleveland Cavaliers.

“He is going to Cleveland; the contract is not signed yet, there are still a few details I want to work out on the language,” Thomas said by way of text message.

You’ll recall that even as of yesterday afternoon at the Turkoglu press conference Colangelo was still sounding hopeful about bringing back Parker, noting that he hadn’t yet signed a contract with Cleveland. Well, as of this morning he still hasn’t, but I don’t think there can be a clearer indication that Parker won’t be changing his mind. And you know what? Not a bad opportunity for him, you have to say. If there’s one guy I’d like to see do well it’s Anthony Parker, one of the most decent people I’ve met in 15 years in the business. A smart, friendly, consistent person who will see about as many wide-open corner jumpers as have ever been seen playing with LeBron and Shaq, it’d be nice to see him knock down some big ones in the NBA Finals next year.

“Yes, the Raptors did want him back,” said Thomas. “Bryan was sincere in that [we] just felt this was too good an opportunity to pass up.”

Parker was good for us, but provided nothing that can't be replaced. I hope he has a good year with the Cavs.

Funny huh, how Toronto (hockey minded culture) fans are. If you are of poor character, and you aren't a team guy/ hard worker, leave and we'll hate you. If you are a man, bring it every night, defer to your mates during good times, take on a loss personally.... we will love you no matter where you go.

I'm proud of our fanbase, we got it right, we know whats going on.

We all should. I know I will.

Of course you'll also see me doing my best crab imitation after a non-call on Lebron, but that's going off topic.

Loved Anthony Parker all the time.

I thought he struggled most of the season, but he had a lot of the responsibility on the wings, maybe a bit too much for him. He is already 34.

But again, through the ups and downs he always kept going and had a good attitude to keep himself and his team going.

I wish him the best of luck and success on the Cavaliers, he will be missed.

I definitely support the standing-O for him when he comes back.

Heck, I hope we gave Rasho a standing-O this season or a long cheer when he came to play in Toronto, but I missed watching most of the games :P

Parker will always be a raptor in my heart. Hope you win a ring this year, because after this year, Raptors are going to start winning it

Murphy played like garbage his entire tenure here... and I know, I was at most of those games.

Exactly! Except for the fanbase. Most don't know what's going on.
Best of luck AP.

if he wanted to win a title he should have signed with the Lakers, Spurs or Nuggets
Cleveland just gives him a better chance to reach the finals, not win
