The hits just keep on coming. Story shortly on Raptors adding Anthony Carter, too. Monumental day. Or not

Ish Smith please

js12 12-10-2011 04:54 PM

I would prefer Jeremy Lin or Ishmael Smith, but this is a solid pick for a 3rd point guard. Good veteran presence that can play D.

Claudius 12-10-2011 04:56 PM

This has actually been a very pleasing off-season if true. Perfect third-string PG.

Don Vito 12-10-2011 04:57 PM

Defensive vet with a good attitude, great sign.

LX 12-10-2011 04:59 PM

Yep - nice guys in terms of helping to shift the culture here. They really needed a decent vet or two last season to help with that.

cloudnine 12-10-2011 05:00 PM

Cool, picked up the last solid and unremarkable piece of the puzzle. Career low-20s 3pt shooter, too! :)

Onward and upwards this year.

Is BC reading our boards?

Dark Knight 12-10-2011 05:05 PM

Anyways, Anthony Carter could be the second coming of Darrick Martin, which is a good thing for this team. Small additions like these sometimes make a big difference in the lockeroom.

box92 12-10-2011 05:07 PM

good signing, would have preferred lin though

Shifty.py 12-10-2011 05:09 PM

While other managers wait and see what happens to big names, BC is beating everyone to the 3rd tier FAs
I like Anthony Carter from his Denver days, but even then he was an aged veteran. Consider him like an addition to coaching staff

10gizzle 12-10-2011 05:24 PM

Very gritty, scrappy PG.

Love it. I love all these 1 year contracts. We're gonna let the kids learn while having some defensive minded players surrounding them.

Jeremy 12-10-2011 10:51 PM

So Jamaal won't be the oldest player on the team after all.

Anyone else find this headline amusing?

i agree. Our tactics and execution in this off-season are both spot-on.

Chiggmo 12-11-2011 04:24 PM

Oh no! Another Carter! :cookie:

DDUnreal 12-11-2011 09:34 PM

Solid Sign, let the tanking continue!

Admiral 12-11-2011 11:39 PM

I've never seen such full out tanking of a team in the nba before the season even starts

kind of getting ahead of myself, but who is it next season that we're "saving" all this cap for?? is there a bunch of big names next season that we're waiting for and that we actually have a shot at getting because he'll actually sign with us?

don't forget cap space isn't just for FA. We could be in a good place to make an aggressive trade for a top player. Val, top 7 pick in draft and an elite (or close to elite,) trade signing and we're looking strong!
