Another day, another Bosh rumour

It's out there?? Really, that's what you got! "Handfull of nothing"?? These guys are out to lunch!

Quote:
A little basketball note here. And sometimes you hear these things and you think it's just the right thing to do to pass it along. We heard a rumor that kind of bubbled up last week or several days ago, over the weekend, about Kirk Hinrich being involved in a trade to the Washington Wizards for Caron Butler. Well try this on for size as something that is percolating. And as of now, that's all I can tell you, and I'm not gonna say that this is a done deal, that it's even close, but as far as something that is out there as a possibility...

First blush, what do you ya think?

Hinrich, Tyrus Thomas, and at least one pick to the Toronto Raptors for Chris Bosh.

I think he meant Rose, Noah and a first... because nothing short of that will land Bosh.

Bosh isn't going anywhere via trade until at least the offseason.
(Unless the team just falls apart, he ends up miserable and puts in a demand, which is unlikely).
I'm beginning to believe he'll re-sign here anyway.

Hinrich and Thomas? So basically we'd take 2 benchers for a bonafied superstar? Some Americans are just literally too stupid to insult.

Deng not having a great season? 17ppg and 7 rebounds isn't a good enough season thus far for you?

The rumor got listed on the espn insider as well. They had Ric Bucher comment on it and here is what he said.

Quote:
Thomas fits, but Hinrich?
"If Toronto moves Chris Bosh -- and that remains a possibility -- they would do so for frontline help. They're young at 2-guard and could use the athleticism Tyrus Thomas brings, but Kirk Hinrich is a shorter version of Hedo Turkoglu and Andrea Bargnani. That, in short, would make it a bad deal for the Raptors."

would you consider noah, thomas, johnson, and james?

as much of a fan fav as he's become, i would think they'd have to include noah. i actually like tyrus. he can be a real game changer. collangelo was high on johnson at the draft, and james is expiring.

however, i don't get the feeling that BC is going to pull the trigger.

Bosh is going nowhere until at least this summer. And if he is then dealt in a S&T, if it was to Chicago, Noah would have to be included along with Deng or Hinrich or Thomas and a younger player such as James Johnson. But i still think we could do better.

I feel for you guys. Until the Hornets recent win streak we've gotten nothing but "how long will CP3 be happy in New Orleans" and "Is CP3 the next Garnett who will have to leave his team to win a title." Everything I have read about Bosh, he really seems like he loves it there and you have a great chance to keep him, but until it is in ink you'll be hearing nothing but rumors. And since most people in the US are geographically challenged, they don't realize that Toronto is far from a "small" market. Seems like the media thinks if you aren;t in NY, LA or Miami you can't possibly like living in another NBA city. I'd think most players would love living in a place like Toronto- or New Orleans.

That said, I would love to see Bosh in New Orleans. So when I saw the Chicago rumor I came here to see what was up with that and it does look like complete nonsense. BUt I was curious to see the sort of trades you all would be okay with. or as "okay" as you can be when it involves the face of your franchise. what would you think about DWest and Peja, and a pick, for Bosh (with whatever spare parts would be required to make the numbers work)? West fits your system well, as does Peja. Even on his last legs, Peja can still fill it up as long as you don't need him to play 35 minutes a game, would be a great veteran in your lockeroom of international players, and he becomes a big expiring for you next year, and West is an All Star who may have the most management friendly contract in the league. Much as I like West, the Hornets aren't going to be contenders with CP, West and Emeka as our big 3. Not gonna happen, but it's less absurd than the Chicago thing right?
In another two years when we're dealing with the same thing and re-signing CP, I think I'd want an All Star level player, another solid player/and or massive cap relief, and a pick. Well, actually if we would ever lose CP we may as well burn the arena down, it'd be all over for New Orleans and basketball...

I would love to land CP3; I think him and Bosh will be the ultimate combo.

Whatever happened to the good old days, when guys like Webber were traded for a lesser player and 3 future first rounders. Good times of teams mortgaging their long-term future for the present...
