I feel like people are hyping this kid too much. We don't want him ending up like Harrison Barnes...

Harrison Barnes was a number 7 pick, and looks to have a solid pro career ahead of him.

I don't think anyone should be disappointed if Andrew Wiggins turns into the next Harrison Barnes.

In this case, in part because he's a local kid, and in part because his game and athleticism are exciting and fun to watch, I'm really enjoying the hype and the highlight reels.

Love the future for Canada Basketball, with this guy at the helm.

Although, I don't think we'll be in the race for Wiggins.

Not saying there's anything wrong with Harrison Barnes, it's just that Barnes was being compared to NBA Stars in high school and was supposed to be the unanimous #1 pick. He basically lived off that hype in college.

Wiggins is a good player, but I don't want to dub him the Chosen One just yet.

If you watched the interview with him on the Score, you can see he has people around him giving him good advice. His father played in the NBA and his mom was an olympic runner and they have him grounded quite well. He also seems to understand he still has a long way to go and a lot to learn. I don't see him with the same attitude that Barnes had at this age.

One scouting report said that this kid will go first no matter what year he enters the draft. Another had him pegged as the 6th best 1st overall prospect of the last 20 years. Hope he does it but hype that big is scary to live up to, the college game is totally different from high school and college is totally different from the NBA, it's never set in stone that a player will be successfull.

Disappointingly, I have not seen his name among the list of participant at the Olympic team hopefuls meet at the ACC. Was it because of his age? 'Cause he would be a huge addition to the national team in Rio.

Hopefully he makes the right choice and plays for Syracuse before he hits the nba. Apparently that is one of his 5 top choices.

The kid is 17 and still has 1 more year in high school, i think its an age thing, but the way he's progressing he'll be at the Olympics for sure, likely as our main man

on a side note, this kid went to Vaughan Secondary School before he transferred to the US, which is literally 2 minutes away from my house

He was going to be at the camp but had previous commitments. He has already represented Canada the last two summers and will continue to in the future. We may have a good international team in the next 3-5 years.
