Default Andrea's First Allstar Game. Can This Be It?

Personally i expect this will be the year that Andrea's skillset shocks the rest of the NBA and propells him to Allstar status. There is a very noticeable difference in Andrea this year and it only took two pre-season games to notice. His confidence level has shot through the roof, dare i say there's even a hint of cockiness. Having Bellinelli around i think will be a huge bonus for Andrea's comfort level. Considering Andrea has allways been a shy reserved type, cockiness is damn good.

It appears his co-ordination has finally caught up to his body size. He put the ball to the floor a few times in these two games and something was definitely missing. His clunkiness is gone. In it's place was an explosive, yet smooth gracefull precision that would be expected from a point guard. To do what he did at 7' is truly something special.

He's added a bit of a flair to his passing and his playmaking IQ equally impressive. He handled the ball in a couple screen and rolls that looked pretty as silk and one even ended in a no look pass to another big. He's mentally focused like never before and it's making for drastic improvements in all facets of his game. He's finishing dunks with an in your face mentality. He's looking to punish defenders now rather than tossing up weak layups. His rebounds will go up significantly this year also. You can see he's taking them down with a more aggressive, that's MINE attitude!

Turk is gonna be another huge bonus for Bargnani's quest, together they should be a nightmare to cover with their diverse skill sets. Bosh should also have a breakout season with Turk's influence. Between the three of them they could and should put up 60 points on many a night. Turk's points might not go up but you can be sure both Bargs and Bosh's will.

So do you think this year can be Andrea's allstar coming out party?

if his rebounds do actually go up significantly like you say then he might have a chance, 20 ppg will be nothing for him as a second option with Bosh taking most the doubles. His rebounding going up is much easier said then done though

plus there are a few up and comers at center that might make some noise, lopez(nets) and mcgee(wiz) off the top of my head

Never say never, but realistically - no.

Bosh is pretty much a shoe-in and if we have a good enough record to warrant two players on the team, my money is on Hedo.

Safe to say that Shaq and Dwight are there. Andrea's going to have to kick some serious ass to get the nod as well.
It's unlikely unless the whole of Italy votes for him. Or at least Woodbridge.

C for the East has been the least competitive position in the all-star game for as long as I can remember.

yeah, shaq could get in even if he plays bad or is injured. Bargnani needs to bring that 20/10 street shit to get some attention

In my mind this is crucial. this kid can have all the offensive skills in the world, but if he's not pulling down more than just 5 rebounds a game he doesn't deserve an allstar appearance.

Andrea is gonna be a all star, if he play like the second half of last year he will be

I think that Calderon deserves it more than him,but Calderon isn't getting a lot of attention by the league
I think that we can have 2 all star this year if can get fourth in the East

I'm andreea's biggest fan, but I don't think he has a shot.We would have to win 55+ games, otherwise the us won't pay any attention to us. And even if we win that many, he would need at least 20+/8+, which is fairly unlikely in itself.

He will NEVER come close to being voted in by the fans, so he'd have to be chosen by the coaches. I can't see that happening. Dwight Howard and Shaq are both in the East now.

I always thought that NBA and expecially the all-star game is all about status (and so the reffs calls). Just think about Iverson, selected even when he doesn't deserve it! Same will be for Shaq, if he doesn't get injured he's going to be selected anyway. Andrea can play at an all-star level, but for being noticed he have to play really as Dirk.

I think he's got a chance to get voted in by coaches behind D-Ho.

It all depends how well Shaq plays for Cleveland. If the coach plays Shaq sparingly, saving his body for the playoffs and Andrea improves dramatically it will be possible. There's no other easy choice for 2nd string center coming out of the East.

as long as it depends on the fans, AB has NO chance of being voted on, he could make it as a coach's pick, which would suit me just fine! i would rather have him selected for his play than for being a guy with no game and no future in this league but WAS an all-star.. <shaq> .. a side not, can you have two super heros on the same all-star team?... just wondering!
