Andrea interview - Italian newspaper

Sorry, no link, it was on paper today, maybe tomorrow it'll be on the website. It's just a sum of the best parts.
Forgive mistakes here and there.

They start asking about the last record performance against nicks, all star numbers.
-AB: "Yes, but every time i have a career high we lose. Better to settle for 20. The all star game is still a dream, but a little i hope fore it, the numbers are there. Buit i don't want to think about it, can be a distraction. Also you have to win, they don't call you to play the ASG if your team sucks" ...
"It's difficoult to think about a better palce than MSG to set a new career high, playing in the most old and historic arena in the NBA"

About being the new first option on the team.
-AB: "There are only 30 NBA teams and i'm one of those 30 go-to guys, it's a great honor" ...
"I think i've played well, regardless the 41 points. In the NBA a lot players are able to score a lot, but when doubled a few are able to find an open teammate"

Asked about a triple double
-AB: "I have good hands, if i'm getting doubled more often i think it may be possible. But i have to work hard to get there"

Expectations for the Team.
-AB: "The last season we were around the same level. We are a good team, although nobody would bet on us. We had a hard calendar at the beginning, but we've been able to beat high calibre teams like Boston, Orlando and Oklahoma. Plus Reggie's injury has been unfortunate, replace him in a team like ours is not easy"

About Bosh
-AB: "With him we did not win a title or played in the post season. We come from nothing and in the worst scenario we'll stay there"

Glad to see he's not letting the 41 go to his head. Seems a good kid.

carp 12-10-2010 01:00 PM

This guy is awesome.... couple more 41's and he should be in the AS game....

He is a balanced guy and a team player.
Nice to see him put the facts straight with Bosh.

What about making double-doubles first...? :mischief:
Ahah, sorry, this one was easy...

who cares about double doubles... just worry about playing well. Stats are overrated

I am absoutely loving the development and maturation of Andrea Bargnani into the player we once dreamed he can be (easy he cant rebound well yet)

I think if we add some nice pieces via tpe, trade, free agency but more importantly draft....I expect us to be really good soon.

/Bayless
DeMar/Sonny
/Kleiza (needs to learn to stop mothafuckin chucking)
Bargs/Amir
Chandler/Davis

Screw you MJ were going after TC this summer

mb666 12-10-2010 03:05 PM

Bargnani is going to average 40 ppg for the rest of the year lol. :yeah:

Nice Bosh bashing comment!

Chandler is a huge health risk... if the price is right, do it. Can even get crazy for Oden for the right price.

x_kaptain_x 12-10-2010 04:26 PM

I actually don't understand his response to the bosh question.. "We come from nothing and in the worst scenario we'll stay there" What does that mean?

x_kaptain_x 12-10-2010 04:31 PM

Nevermind, I get it.. That's great.

+1 BING!

0nekhmer 12-10-2010 04:33 PM

yes! a confident bargnani :yeah:

LX 12-10-2010 04:44 PM

OK - nice, but hey Andrea - may I remind you that you stunk out the joint when Bosh was injured, and not getting to the playoffs last season was on you just about as much as anyone else? You cost this team wins, and it's not like they needed many...let's see...what was it?...ONE FUCKING WIN TO GET INTO THE PLAYOFFS INSTEAD OF NOTHING.

NOTHING defined everything about your play against Chicago when everything was on the line. And now you seem a little nonchalant about the prospect of more of the fucking same. Wonderful. Good old Andrea. Please at least try to avoid that worst case scenario, and stop making it seem like you'd practically welcome it. That's our job as fans that want a high draft pick.

huh? misguided hatred....

x_kaptain_x 12-10-2010 04:59 PM

uh oh... lxie is sippin the hatorade again... so rational but why!

moremilk 12-10-2010 06:17 PM

O(a)bjectivity.

What's funny is that two years from now, if Andrea keeps improving to the point of becoming an all star and all that, all the bargnani bashers will claim they've always supported him, they were just being objective.

Personally, I think it's great to be objective and try to keep a neutral attitude, as long as you're consistent. But as we all know, the same posters who are always so "objective" about andrea, seem to share magic obliviousness to our ex-franchise player's faults.

Throughout the summer, LX was quick to come to CB's defense in absolutely every discussion on this forum. Look all you want, and you won't find a single negative comment. Now, either Bosh is flawless, or LX is not always as objective as he claims ...

Go ahead LX, rain on everyone's parade with your objectivity. God knows that the fans of this franchise have been spoiled with success for so long that we desperately need somebody to bring us down to earth when things don't seem so bleak, even if for just a day. As long as you're objective.

Yeah, I know. That was just a JOKE.
I don't care if Bargs takes 4-5 rebonds a game. Amir, Reggie, Davis or Kleiza are great rebounders and it make the balance.
I like Bargs.
