That game in Atlanta was not a final straw, it was a bale of hay. The dude had been so unresponsive for some time up to that point, and in that game he just laid down right off the bat.
When has he not been a team player? Most of the time, unfortunately, though not intentionally. He shoots, he scores or misses, and he otherwise watches. He spent five years of having guards practically needing bullhorns before he would recognize they needed him to set a screen. And this is precisely what is so infuriating - he sees no need to expand a role that goes beyond what he likes to do best - but that is not basketball. Amir is inconsistent, but he is out there trying to fill as big of a role as he can.
I can appreciate your viewpioint... I'm just saying, at 8M AB is very good value. The way he played in the 4th Q against Detroit (yes I'm aware it was Detroit) he was probably the best player on the floor. His D is improving, his offensive subtleties are improving, everything about him seems to be improving. I say, put last year in the past. The Raps aren't competing for anything substantial this year, but they sure as hell seem to be competing harder than the last few years. Maybe AB's progression has been too slow for some, but he's making half of what Bosh
is AND he actually likes it here enough to want to stay. He's continually improving, he isn't a cancer, teammates are showing they respect him, and he is by far the biggest concern about this team a fan should have.
