Raptors Amir's problems

Quote:
So, head coach Dwane Casey met with his big man on Thursday. The injury of Andrea Bargnani was an easy way to explain away Johnson’s struggles, but now there is another element to the story.

“I had a meeting with Amir this morning,” Casey said. “One thing is he’s got some personal things going on. That’s been a part of it.”

Understandably, Johnson did not want to get into the details.

“To be honest, it’s a little personal, probably personal stuff,” Johnson said. “But I’ve got to bring that energy every time I come to the game. It’s no excuse. I’ve just got to pick it up.”

Being around Rasual that much could be classified as personal problems I guess...

Everyone's got problems, it's how you deal with them that matters.

Why is he letting his personal life come into the game? Fuck, just play basketball.

That's kind of selfish.

Why judge how someone is dealing with something personal when you know nothing about it?

Some athletes find their sport a good form of escapism from real life, they perform just as well. D Wade is an example, as is John Terry (Chelsea defender).

I don't blame Amir. You don't know what's going on. I'd find it impossible to work if I had serious shit going on. IT'd be my last prority.

Didn't Bogut just go home this season? Did he give an explanation in the end?

It would be one thing if the games were meaningful, but they just aren't.

that makes sens to me.
if the team struggles, and you are tired, and then you have a big personnal problem, it's tough.

i don't spoke about me often, i don't like that. but last year my grandfather had declared cancer. and i went on with my life. i realise only some month after the doc said to him he was out of it (careful with the "out"...) that at some point it affects me and my life, my wife, etc... more than we imagine on the moment !

i don't say he has the same problem. i hope not for him, but some times even when you think you are tough, a big adult/men whom carries his life head up, you realize things/shits happen and take over your head, and also your body, even if you don't think that the main reason.

so like i said for DD, problems happen, shits more than often, and dealing with them are not that easy for every one, so a little respect when nobody know nothing. THX.

+1

Johnson even quoted: "But I’ve got to bring that energy every time I come to the game. It’s no excuse. I’ve just got to pick it up."

Hopefully everything is good with him and people close to him.

Hope all goes well for Amir, Toronto has got his back! He's given a lot to Toronto, and a string of bad games shouldn't have people going against him.

is it an excuse if a firefighter, police officer or doctor has someone die on their watch because of personal problems interfering with their work? nope. considering amir makes over triple the salaries of each of these people combined, he needs to suck it up and perform.

A basketball game and someones life are completely different. That's a terrible comparison.

BS !!!!

have you never heard of some doctor whom take/ask for backup or replacement ?
i understand some people are angry at him, but come on... hjave you never had any personnal problem in your life ?

put aside amir's personnal problem, ok !
then think about it ! can you name some player in anysport whom never had a slump ? or struggles ?
because i don't think that exist.

but yeah, amir is different he play for the raptors, so he is a mutant with no right to have some struggles, no tights to have problem, just because i make 5M a year, don't make him inhuman.

if you can't understand that i worried for the people of your entourage.

when your job is to perform and you're not performing, you're not doing your job. if a personal matter is that drastic to the point where you can't ignore it while you're at work, you take a leave of absence to resolve it. i really have a low level of patience when people bring their problems to work to the point it makes them useless and a distraction.

I'd assume if a firefighter, police office, or doctor's problems were severe enough to affect their work they'd get personal time off.
