Default Amir Johnson For Tristan Thompson

I heard this rumor recently, any validity to it? I personally like it, bringing Thompson back to TO

Really? You wouldn't want a 22yr old PF from Toronto averaging 12ppg/10rpg on a rookie contract for our starting PF making 7mil averaging 10.5ppg/6.5rpg??

At the very least, it would have to be considered. Horrible is a very strong word.

From an outsiders opinion, I would make that deal. My perspective see's Amir Johnson scoring only 2 points against Portland in the last game, and getting ejected in 4 seconds during the game before that.

tt is by far imo the better player, but he is up for a new contract after this year? I'd think someone will want to pay him

Once again per game averages have their limitations. His FG% is .456. His drating is 109 atm. Look at some of his other numbers. WS/48 minutes he still hasn't eclipsed the league average. Not to mention he's part of an albatross of a squad composed of horrid draft choices such as himself.

I couldn't care less if he's from Toronto or wherever.

Amir>>>TT. He's been the heart and soul of the team since Bosh has left and has to endured so much crap. Defensively aside from KL this year and last the burden which has been on him is insane. Statistically and "aesthetically" or the eye test -Amir >>> TT.

Gotta be a top 5 pick. Nothing exists beyond this draft.

Now all that being said TT obviously has a higher ceiling given his age. Also - he's going to get paid a lot really soon.

I love Amir but i haven't seen a player more overhyped since Tie Domi.

3rd or 4th line guy compared to a guy in the NBA in a starting 5 playing starters' minutes.

Also - really - mentioning the Maple Knicks?

I would do it, TT is still a puppy and is already a good PF. Amir is going to get paid soon too and my guess is that he is going to get more than TT. Plus I'm not confident that Amir can stay healthy.

I think Amir is the centre of this team, chemistry-wise. For that reason alone, I would have to be bowled over by an offer (tt doesn't do it for me).

Amir can play great and impact a game without putting up numbers. So when he's in a slump people look at his numbers, then they look at his number from his past games, and say 'shit, this guy is pretty mediocre'.

Although the performances are long forgotten, the boxscores remain intact.

Amir has the ability to really leave his mark on a game (hopefully a series), on the defensive end of the court. I don't think TT has that ability offensively or defensively.

Two of the last 3 seasons he's been inconsistent.

Why do we want to break the wining flow of this team ?
Some people talk about trading DD, others about trading KL and others about Trading Amir.
I think the wining pattern we have right now has affected the mentality of some or our fans.

he hasn't been playing good ball lately, regardless of numbers. i know he's playing hurt, but still. recently it hasn't been a stretch to say he's struggling regardless.
