Billups/Stoudamire
Carter/Peterson
McGrady/Gay
Bosh/Oakley
Val/Olajuwon

Gotta have Val starting since he's gonna lead the league in blocks, points, rebounds, steals,fg% and beat Bill Russell rings-wise
if you're going to do that then you have to put JO in there at PF or C
and Marion in there somewhere
don't forget that we once had Mark Jackson, so you'd have to put him in there too at PG

haha

I'd change:
Jermaine O'Neal at b.u. PF instead of Oakley.
Doug Christie over Mo Peterson.
Hedo Turkoglu over Gay.

I'd love to find room for Marcus Camby and Dell, dad of Steph, but i guess there's none. The Raptors' history is just too rich.

It should be Shawn Marion instead of both Hedo and Gay, it slipped out of my mind that he played for Toronto.

Re Hedo - Gay, what? Is Gay some kind of star now? I missed the memo. Hedo's prime was pretty good.
In the end, neither should be a top 2 player on a real contender. Although Hedo actually had brilliant finals in '09 (other than a few missed free throws in one of the games).

You are trolling! I know you are not talking about about Hedo when he was a Raptor.. but still, not even close

Sorry, no way is Hedo better than Gay. And it's about what they did here, at least to some degree. And he was a complete disaster here.

still disagree, Hedo's best season (2007-2008) is almost the same as Rudy's career average.
Rudy was a member of USA national team, Hedo member of Turkish national team. However if Hedo would be American there is no way in hell he would make the NT and you know it!
RG is easily a better player..

come on.

that season is easily as good as any Rudy's season, and he actually had some memorable playoff performances.

in the end, neither is all that great, but i'll take Hedo's peak so far. Who knows, Gay is still young, maybe he will reinvent himself and one day my opinion will be different.

The national team argument isn't serious. No, I don't know it. You act as if Gay was a big time player for that team. He was warming the bench for Durant, Odom and Iguodala. It's still an honor but I don't know what you want to say there.

no it's not easily as good as Rudy's best season. Rudy's 2007-2008 was better than Hedo's (his best). I don't even care about stats tbh, Rudy is wayyyyy better defensively, and better offensively (subjective).
You are usually dead on with this kind of stuff so I really want to know why do you think Hedo in his prime is > Rudy's best season..
and NT part it's not about him being bench warmer, Turk would not make the NT! simple as that.

I think the criteria needs to change, true Raptors only, not guys who spent a couple of years and fucked off, or guys who went through weren't good and became good some where else ie chauncy billups

Jose Calderon, Alvin Williams, T.J Ford
Vince Carter, Anthon Parker, Demar Derozan
Mo Pete, JYD, Tracy Mcgrady
Chris Bosh, Andrea Bargnani, Amir Johnson
Antonio davis, Jonas Valancuinus, Rasho

all these guys had there peak moments in Toronto besides mcgrady, but mcgrady was with the Raptors for a while, and was great defensive 3 for us matched with vince

Rudy Gay will be taking his spot but he as put in 4 years, and if he does that he'll probably jump all 3 guys

I put down Jonas because his rookie contract meaning he'll be here for a while

Hehe. I really don't understand these claims. You may have forgotten that FIBA year, otherwise I just don't get your view. That was the year when all the "stars" decided to take a break and they sent a bunch of youngsters. Rose, Westbrook, Love weren't considered legit stars back then. They all broke out after that year. People were writing that team off.
If Hedo was an American and was in his prime, he'd absolutely have a chance to make that team. A shooter, a passer, tall, a good fit for FIBA game.
But it's moot, because he's not an American. He's Turkish, so he got silver that year.
I've no idea why we are talking about this tbh...

Re 07-08, I don't know why Gay was better in your view. Better offense? That's not really "subjective", that's just wrong. And Gay kind of sucked defensively early in his career. It's kind of like comparing two pieces of crap on that end. He's nothing special even now, but he's much better than he used to be.
I think Gay's best year was 10-11, maybe there's an argument for 11-12 too, btw.

Anyway, two very good starters, near all stars. Both had very similar peak seasons, but I give an edge to one of them, in large part because of his finals performance.

If this wasn't a Raptors forum where Gay is now some sort of Messiah to some people, while Hedo is a curse word, it wouldn't seem controversial.

In the big picture, neither of them is a legit star. So it's TMac/Shawn Marion, if we are talking primes.
