All-Star game thread

Pretty boring 1st quarter, at least they are playing a little bit serious

Torontosaurus 02-17-2008 11:25 PM

Gotta say, these uniforms are a bit confusing and ugly as well.

West is white on the front and gold in the back and East has blue in the front and white on the back.

I'm watching with some casual bball watchers and they find it confusing as one team looks like the other at certain camera angles and they don't know which players the teams are on like I do.

Belsius 02-17-2008 11:52 PM

Man, Im wishing so bad that paul is the MVP and not lebron

Torontosaurus 02-18-2008 12:06 AM

The game's starting to pick up now. I think if the West wins, CP will get it.

Claudius 02-18-2008 12:18 AM

Wow.....Ray Allen get's no love. Figures people voted for the hype.

pimpery 02-18-2008 01:35 AM

lol come on look at his numbers, and that posterized dunk on dirk was worth the price of admission alone!!

Belsius 02-18-2008 07:43 AM

Lebron James represents all whats wrong with the NBA.

Dr. J. Naismith 02-18-2008 09:34 AM

So, I watched the intro's last night and that was about it. I really didn't have any interest in watching the game and rather watch Big Brother and Dexter.

What did I miss fellas?

BTW, I'd have to say the thing that I enjoyed the most over the weekend basketball festivities was the music. Thankfully no hip-hop, but rather the sweet sound of N'awlins jazz. :clapping:

Dude, if Ray's not there, the East doesn't win. Period.

Acie 02-18-2008 10:28 AM

I missed, but I'm going to try and catch the repeat on Raps TV today.

Bosh 14 an 7. Not bad.

Ball Don't Lie 02-18-2008 11:52 AM

Yeah, Bosh was getting hammered inside with no calls thats why his FG% probably sucked.

And Belsius is right. Lebrons a nuisance, big headed douchebag.

moremilk 02-18-2008 03:14 PM

lebron is quickly becomin the most annoying player in the league. Luckily this year the media is zeroing on howard, so by the end of the season almost everybody will hate dwight with a passion (same thing that happens every year, with wade, lebron before him, kobe etc). I hope lebron gets traded to the west ... :)

pimpery 02-18-2008 10:27 PM

Well i like Lebron and he may be the most improved player in the league this year (which is pretty sick if you think about it), he is getting better every year and at his age its scary to think what he will become, hell he already took a medicore team to the finals.

BTW besides LeBrons posterization of Dirk the other highlight was my other boy SHEED dropping a trey LEFT HANDED!!! Come on now, you talk about Moon's left handed dunk as the shiz, we are talking left handed 3s now hahahaha add another thing Sheed can do, which like i said before is more then any1 else can ;)

Dwights too humble and too nice of a guy for everyone to start hating him. Unless he somehow uncharacteristically bashes his coach or says his first swear word on live TV or acts like an arrogant POS like Lebron I cant see how people will start hating him. Hes probably one of the coolest guys in the league from all the vids I've seen about him, always has a smile on his face and never goes out of his way to make things about him.

moremilk 02-19-2008 02:36 PM

I think it doesn't even matter what he does/says. Wade seems like a decent guy too, but after his media love-fest 2 years ago, there was a lot of hate for him ... Nobody likes over-hyped players, regardless of their value/character.

Belsius 02-19-2008 02:49 PM

I doubt anybody will hate Dwight. I lebron represents the bad things on the NBA, Howard represents many of the good ones.

Ball Don't Lie 02-19-2008 03:53 PM

I think Dwights gonna be a lot like Shaq has been throughout his career with the media and fans. It's insanely hard to dislike Shaq, I think itll be the same way with Dwight. Hes funny, charasmatic, always has a smile on his face, and is basically a media darling. The dude doesnt even swear!!! He'll never become like Lebron and Melo.

fancylad 02-19-2008 04:16 PM

ya.. good points guys. I'd have a hard time hating Dwight as he stands right now. He's entertaining. He's good at his craft. seems like a nice guy... and he's not a pompous motherfucker like some other "NBA superstar punks who think they're hotter than shit" [fixed].

for the record, the only thing that i disliked about Wade had nothing to do with him personally... it was all the phantom calls he was getting. and i never hated Wade per se... i was just getting annoyed by him and the favoratism he would get.

pimpery 02-19-2008 04:25 PM

its fine to hate on LeBron, hell i didnt like Jordan, for reasons ill get in2 if ppl want to know but it doesnt matter, i didnt deny his talent either. If your referring to King James as an "up and coming star" your really misguided, James isnt up and coming, he is the star, he is the man, he is the measuring stick (along with Kobe) for every other player in the league.

HUH?
wtf.
yeah i know how good Lebron James is... I just used the term "up and coming" as general title for young NBA superstar Punks like Lebron James, Carmelo Anthony et al. Don't take it so literally.

there.. i edited my inital post.
