The All-in-one Landry Fields is terribly bad thread

From what I've seen he can't hit an open jumpshot...

He's 7/18 so far this preseason shooting a dismal 38%.

He shot 25% from the three point line last season in New York.

Is this guy really that bad?

You do realize I used a sample size of last season in New York..where he started 61 games and played 30 minutes a game, shooting a terrible 25% from behind the arc..

He's too smart a player to suck this badly.

I have faith in him. He'll get his head right once the reg. season rolls around and he gets more comfortable with his new teammates.

WTF is going on around here? Judging players after 3 pre-season games? Really?

The whole team has for the most part looked lost out there. Fields is on a new team and has to learn to fit in here. Can we please stopp looking/sounding like every other reactionary herky jerky, looney fanbase out there.

If he was 8/18 (44FG%) instead of 7/18 would you still be bitching?

missing open jumpshots, shooting 25% from beyond the arc (in a full season not a preseason) he also had a realllly horrible FT% all that has nothing to do with the preseason. Thug asked a good question and its one no one knows the answer too, because he's shown he can be better offensively (see rookie year stats). We'll just have to wait and see.

Exactly, wait and see. I'll wait 'til a month into the season to start judging the man. He's 23 and has had one good season and one bad season. Perspective people.

Nobody is judging him though. I simply asked a question while using facts (stats) to illustrate the situation.

The problem with the question is that we don't know and it's a premature question. His career so far (2 season) has been mixed. So to say he sucks or doesn't suck is a little early imo.

Dude, derozen sucks just as bad.....and people want to overpay to keep him here. Why can't we give this team a chance, its not December!!!!!!!!!!!!

Derozen 2011-12

FG 42% - 3pt 26% - FT% 81 - MPG 35

Fields 2011-12

FG% 46 - 3pt 25% - FT% 56 - MPG 28

With some FT work, the guy is as good as derozen...and although he kinda is already 'overpaid' we wont have to dish out 10 million/year for him (which is what I assume he is looking for)

Jeffb has it right, 3 preseason games and some of the over reactionary comments are mind numbing.

Don't forget Thug that not only is LF on a new team and a new system he's playing the 3 spot which he typically doesn't - so he's learning a new position as well. LF struggled one year, last year, but his college and rookie season were pretty darn good prior.

So, new team, new position, new philosophy, new coach, new city, new country, new super model and only 3 games into preseason. Let's wait till December 15 to see where he's at before worrying.
