Fields is the fastest to become the whipping boy for any Toronto sports team in the City's history of Athletics

By the end of the year yeah.... but it took at least 20-30 games for us to REALLY start hating him. Didn't happen right away.

Hating a player THIS much after 3 games (and a role player at that) is definitely a record lol.

Another solid 1/4 2 pts for Fields.

We should start doing bets on when hes going to get 10 points, and hit his first 3.

I say by game 15

at this point i'm not really caring about the stats he puts up like the rebounds, steals, assists or points, since we were all told that his game doesn't show up on the stat sheet
but there is 1 stat that definitely does matter and that is FG%, if you don't provide any other stats you have to at least shoot a decent %, as a player who is low on the order on offense when you shoot its usually because of good ball movement leading to an open shot
you have to nail those open shots, this guy is shooting just above 20% from the field, that is unacceptable

I still think he looks terrified. Dude must be reading this stuff we write here. Right now he is on his tablet, reading this with his lower lip quivering.

Why? The guy is getting paid 20 million dollars I don't care about his feelings, if you can't make open layups you deserve to get cut. How many times do derozan Bargnani and Calderon get criticized?

He's not playing bad because of confidence issues, it's from a lack of skill.

people keep saying that but a rookie who did what he did, wouldn't lack skill. Hell any player in the NBA, the worst player period, has a tremendous amount of basketball skill. these statements are absurd, but then again I've come to expect nothing more from you as a poster. first from a tank it all, fuck this fuck that mindset, now this. goddamn!

Look last season in New York, he was playing the exact same. Why do you think New York didn't even blink for a second when we offered that contract? His rookie season is a wash, no scouting report on him, no one probably even bothered paying attention to him, an putting up stats in D'antonio system for a short time isn't exactly that great. The guy isn't playing bad because of confience issues, his poor play is a direct result of a lack of basketball skills, such as shooting a basketball. He has no game.

I actually yelled at my TV when he botched that layup. He is obviously void of any confidence, and contract or not he has to put on the bench. Let him work back into the game slowly and build back his confidence.

Kleiza should be starting on Saturday, if possible. Otherwise Anderson.

I know Landry isn't playing well, but ragging on him isn't going to help, how about we support our players instead of hating on them?

When you aren't doing something well, do you like it when people tell you suck? or do you prefer support? These guys are human just like us, we should treat them how we like to be treated.

Too much negativity from Toronto sport fans, I know its hard to find something positive but all the negativity is getting old.

/rant.

You're right...I blame the Maple Leafs. They planted to seed and have set the standard for losing in team sports for the city of Toronto.

Never liked that move. Getting a player on the wrong side of 30 who needs to play alongside a shoot first/non-traditional pg, needs the ball in his hands to be effective, whose horrible d was covered by probably the best defensive rebounder in the league and is coming to a team paying an awesome 9 million/year for a traditional pg.
