I'm a bit of a Fields agnostic. I think he might be terrible but I need more evidence.

Giving his rebound to the other team is the work of a strong tank commander.

Nope. Fields made some nice defensive plays, cuts and passes as well.

Not to downplay AA though.... because yes... he was huge.

You know what I mean. He's still gotta be able to not let them blow by him every possession, and I dont trust his quickness.

He fell for AKs pumpfakes like 5 times today and the guy isnt even a good shooter.

And I know what you're saying too but this is still a 3rd year player that we're talking about and a guy who's trying to find his way on a new team.

He could be better but he's not hurting us NEAR as much as everyone thinks.

Now Bargs on the other hand.....

I've tried to understand why you are a Landry Fields fan, but it baffles me.

He can't shoot, he is an average athlete, he lacks speed, has little to no ball handling skills, and is an average to below average defender. If it weren't for his rookie season, he would be in the D-League or playing overseas.

I'm amazed you still defend the dude when it is so painfully evident he has been terrible so far this (pre) season.

I agree that Fields finally started getting his shit together, but he was taken out for AA, and didn't come back into the game, so I think your definition of the unit that won it down the stretch is a little all-inclusive.

I'll lay it out for you....

1. He's unselfish. Doesn't need plays to be run for him and doesn't pout if he doesn't get the ball often.

2. He's moves well without the ball.

3. He rebounds well for a wing player.

4. He has good size and is a decent athlete.

5. He's still fairly young.

6. He gives an honest effort every night out.

There's been additional pressure on the SF spot to produce points.... but that's been because Bargs has absolutely sucked (when he should have been the most reliable option on this team).

To be clear, if Bargs was replaced with Amir or Ed in the starting lineup I'd have no problem with Fields moving to the bench as well and making room for a SF with more of a scoring touch.

this whole thing is pretty troubling. you can tell he's feeling the pressure because now he's forcing at least now you can see times when he's thinking 'shit i gotta do something with the ball' and he tries to back his guy down or whatever only to brick another shot.

Fuck i don't know.... you can see there's has a chance to salvage some of the money he gets paid in that he can be kinda useful, but the outlook is looking pretty grim. When you get paid that kind of coin, you need to have more than average skill. Forget effort and that shit, you need some actual talent. I'm hoping we see some of it sooner or later.

All of your points defending Fields will never make up for the fact that he is FUNDAMENTALLY a wing that:

1) has horrible handles (dude sucks at pushing the ball as well)
2) never puts any pressure on the defence or his defender
3) misses layups (and a few times this season his floaters are like bullets going at the rim...lol)
4) cannot hit a jump shot or make 3s

Its obvious that these skills are lacking NOT because of the pressure being the starting SF witha new contract. NOT because of some slump. They are just not apart of his game, and most likely NEVER will be. That's it. Give it up. We need to figure out a way to get this dude out of town.

...Fields is so garbage. LOL. What's even more sad than the pick up of Fields by BC is how much the media and BC are defending this dudes FUNDAMENTAL LACK OF SKILLS!

LMAO

Thanks dr. obvious

But we should at least bench the guy if this goes on after 10-12 games into the season.

Can someone explain why amnestying Fields (sometime in the near future) is not a good idea business wise or is maybe not allowed? When would we be able to amnesty him? I never really looked into how that works. Thanks.

As far as I know, we cant amnesty him since he was signed AFTER the new CBA.

I think the amnesty privledge only applies to players who signed before the new CBA came into place.

just read somewhere that the player had to have been signed by the 2010-2011 season? something like that? guessing that's pretty much why we cannot use it on fields. pretty simple. womp womp.

EDIT: Thug beat me to it. Thanks man.

Fields is the wing this team deserves, but not the one it needs right now.
