This has been bothering me all year so far. What the fuck does this stiff do at halftime? Is Keon With the Gin or what?

Guys has dropped 80% of his points in the first two quarters, thats just embarrassing.

Bargnani and me, the relationship is souring fast. And although I don't think he needs to be a 10+ rebounder.... fuck, he got one fucking rebound in a game. I guarantee you, I promise with my life that if I were allowed to play one NBA game, give me 20 mins and I grab more rebounds. Its effort. Period. I used to think there were other things, maybe injures were causing his reaction time to throw him off.... but fuck that, he's just not into it. And that, for me, is not good.

I'd demand a trade if I were Reggie

Ahh when he's averaging 3 instead of 1 rebounds?

I'm not going to bother...

I just want to say this

A guy who averages 20 and 6 who has been asked to play out of position... who is making 10 mill a season...

Your hating on?

He's 7'0" and 250 lbs.... how exactly is Bargs "playing out of position"?

Can you imagine how many times he'd get blown by if he had to guard PFs instead of Cs?

i'm of the opinion that having him play as a PF on defense won't make much of a difference. it isn't his one on one defense that's the issue - it's not great by any means but it definitely isn't the worst. he actually does a pretty impressive job staying in front of guards off of switches.

it's his complete and utter lack of awareness playing (or not playing) help defense that's the problem. having him play PF won't change that, for better or for worse.

His talent(s) are undeniable, but it's his effort, awareness, and stamina is questionable.

I strongly believe that he needs a big man coach and perhaps even a psychologist; to maximize his true potential.

I say it's mostly mental with Andrea....his personality is very different (doesn't play with a lot of emotion), and basketball is an emotional game. Can't be going through motions and play like a robot out there which is what I find Andrea doing, for the most part.

I dunno. I used to think that it was mental. Now I'm starting to think that if there is anything mental that he needs to work through, it's due to him knowing that there are aspects to the game in which he's just never going to be good enough. I don't think he's ever going to be quick to react in a typical NBA game, and so he does whatever he can to take himself out of situations where that might apply.

Andrea is good enough to be the third best player on a good team... unfortunately too many expect him to be the first or not at all.... This Raps team lacks talent across all positions and it's not a quick fix scenario.

All this Bargnani hate is pathetic. There should be a hate thread for every player if it is justifiable for any...

I'm not a Bargnani fan, but he's a decent player. Today (against Washington) he was awful. He's still averaging 20 pts a game. That may be one dimensional, but sufficient for a starting position on Toronto.

I'm really not trying to defend Bargnani, but you just have to accept him for what he is... a scorer. Don't expect him to rebound and be a defensive presence. He will always be mediocre on defense. It is what it is.

Can't argue about a guy after one game. One night he will score 5 pts, another 35 pts. He's averaging 5 rbs a night and its inevitable that he will have 12 rbs one night. Argue averages not single games.
I agree people on here react way too fast. Honestly, if Bargs wasn't on this team then i doubt we would have 2 wins and everybody complains about his defence which is pretty bad but look at the other Raptors that are playing shit on defence like jack and derozan. I see players fly by them so easily that the bigs always have to help out. They also leave their man open for 3 so many times.

Fast?

I'm quite sure most people have been very patient with him considering he's in his 5th season.

Statistically Bargnani is the best Raptor this year.

For all the hype on Derozan, Weems and even Wright (yes someone started a thread arguing why JW should be starting lol), they are not as productive, overall, as Bargnani. You can make excuses about minutes, coaching, etc, but Bargnani is the best player.

Accept Bargnani for what he is. A scorer who stretches the defense and is a mediocre defensive player. It is what it is. Cant be above average w/o someone being below average.

Statically? Actually if i'm not mistaken the only stats he leads the team in is minutes per game, shots taken and PPG.

As our starting Center, he's not our best shooter (FG%), not our leading shot blocker, not our leading rebounder. <-------All this while playing the most minutes.

Didn't get a chance to read through the whole thread. Hope I didn't repeat anything.

Barg has potential. He just needs a good mentor. Let me break down his strengths and weaknesses by defense and offense.

Defense: At times he loses focus and forgets to rebound. He can do it but it'll take determination. He's sort of out of shape...you see alot of flubber. He should work on his legs more so that he has better lateral movement.

Offense: He's got talent. He tall. He's fast (Only if he wants to). He'll need to figure out a way to control his speed. He'll also need to learn how to dribble better with the ball. If you compare Dirk with him, you can clearly see he lacks that post up/smooth move. He can shoot but it always seems flat. And I think that's due to his lack of working out (out of shape).

He definetely a starter. Maybe not right now. And he'll also need a big men to help him out. Reggie just has no offenese at all so it doesn't really help Barg. Players will just leave Reggie to help on guarding Barg, thus he'll never develop his offense.

If we have another big men (not Ed Davis) it would make them a deadly combo.

Bargnani is a hard player to trade.

He has his large contract, which nets him 8.5 M this year, and will increase after every year. Plus, his contract has a "Base-Year Compensation", which will raise the contract by a further 20%.

He is a terrible defender.

Offers Zero help.

Doesn't rebound.

Can't block a shot.

Good on offence.

heh. So is David Anderson.
