Could you please forget about "people" for a second and speak for yourself? I've never cared much about general clamour, preferring instead to form my own opinions. In case of Bargnani, his rebounding numbers don't bother me in the least - he could collect 0 rebounds each and every game for all I care, so long as the rest of the team takes care of those. On this team, it appears that we have more than enough "professional rebounders".

Last season, Raps were 23rd in total rebounding (40.4 rpg). This season, so far, they are 15th (41.4 rpg). Who cares about Bargs' rebounding numbers?

Last season, Raps were 4th in the league scoring 104.1 ppg. This season, so far, they are 16th at 100.1 ppg. Why is noone worried about scoring?

as long as we score 1 more point than the other team, we win the game right?? when was the last time we got a W for all the games this season we out rebounded the opposition?

leave Bargs alone! teams would love to have a C that can score 22+ ppg from either inside or outside!! you guys have no idea how good Bargs is in the scope of the league.. why do you think the Lakers went after Gasol? he can score, he can pass, can run out in transition and, despite what people here believe, he can makes stops under the basket and is good at altering shots. would i like to see him a better defender? sure i would, but he has played beside Bosh for the past 4 seasons who we all know couldn't stop anyone, so,he has a few things to learn still. I think we will see him grow at both ends of the floor.

as for rebounds, well, we have Reggie and Amir for that, so don't be too hard on the guy! it truly is an instinct to be a great rebounder, and he doesn't have that yet. when he decides to, he can do it, but it is not his first thought as he would much rather get the ball in full stride or on the low block in transition...

he is who is he is, and he is a very solid player in this league and will be for many years to come!!

i can't hate on the guy!!

And THIS is what drives some of us insane.

As to why the Lakers got Gasol.... he can score down low, he rebounds the ball AND he can block shots and plays excellent man AND help D.

Bargs has a ways to go before he can be compared to that guy.

Evans is not able to score. Bargs is not grabbing rebs. But see... Reggie steals rebs to anyone and many times real crush between teammates to get one. Andrea got a couple of times 9 rebs, in games where evans had less mins . i guess it's not just a case.
Yeah, on the beach!

If Bargs had played this way about 2-3 years ago he wouldn't have had to endure any hate at all.

Is this the part where you tell everyone that you just KNEW he'd finally "get it" in his 5th year Mike?

When did I ever do "I told you so"? Not my style, mate.

Bosh and Bargnani have never been complementary players. Not really. And IMHO, Bargnani/Evans is a better complementary pair than Bosh/Evans would have been. I also hope that Davis grows to become a better-rounded Evans in the next 2-3 years.

But you can't really compare the two. yes they are both the same height, but their style of play seems a lot different. Bargs is quicker and not much of a low-post player. While Gasol is. So its gunna be hard for Bargs to develop that aspect of his game cause he isn't really that kind of player to begin with.

Kind of like baron davis where he usually post up other pgs comparing to jose usually passing pg.

+1. Bosh and Evans would lack the size to defend many teams.

Nobody needs the "I told you so" but there have been many Bargnani supporters that hadn't jumped on the hate wagon, knowing it generally takes bigs longer to learn the game.... especially those playing the C position. Bogut as a case in point was foolishly considered a bust for a few years too. I was one of those fools....

As far as the low-post game is concerned - I'd really like for Bargs to start working on sky-hook. Yes, it's going to take at least a couple of years to get it down pat, but if it works out, he will become an unstoppable offensive force.

I suppose... although I really would have liked to have seen Bosh/Evans before making any real assessment....

The thing that annoys me most is that Bargs HAD these opportunities to step up last season when Bosh was injured.... and he rarely did.

That home game late in the season against CHI would have a perfect time for him to show all that he's showing this season.

Ah well... as I've said before... if THIS is the Bargs that we can look forward to seeing on a nightly basis now then you can take me off the hatewagon lol.

For the record though.. I still blame Hedo most of all for the way that this team looked last season. He set a horrible example for our young guys.

This is not about Bosh vs. Bargs, the dead end where many of our arguments have historically degenerated to. And it's not about who is responsible for the last season's results, at least not to me. It's about the future and who on this team could be a part of it. So far, it seems that Bargnani is fully intent on being here for a long while.

the discussion should be about who is better for a team. Bosh or Bargs. and right now it is Bargs.

Cheaper contract, doesnt require his touches. is fairly effective. a little easier of a peice to work around, in a loose sense "build"

He gets more shots off than Bosh did, and that was almost the case last season already.
