Funny guy.

We won't necessarily be worse without Bosh. Other pieces will come on.

And let me rephrase that. We need a defensive PG that PLAYS. No shit. I loved Banks.

I'd be happy if he just allowed players to compete for playing time and made decisions based on actual performance. That would be a nice start.

I am a full-fledged, unapologetic over-reactor. That's my mental process for following sports. I'm kinda surprised by the reaction TO is actually getting. Really bringing up this thread was to be fun and kind of a joke.

But some of you guys are completely ripping him.

I'm going to go find the prediction thread for the entire NBA. I'll sticky it, then we should all just ridicule how absolutely dumb we all are.

I applaud TO, he put his neck out, thought that they would do well. He wasn't the only one, everyone else just doesn't have the balls to stand beside their prediction.

Bosh doesn't get hurt I could have seen 45-48 wins even with the issues. We would have made the playoffs and likely been swept by Cleveland. It's tough to say though, one thing the team had prior to Bosh getting hurt was confidence and it was shattered when he first went down...they never recovered until games 81 and 82

Frankly i don't know why some of you guys are laughing it up and doing this whole 'told you so' act at TO's expense. Fact is most you had your moments of unbridled enthusiasm and lofty praise for the Raptors when things were going well. Some people were realistic and a select few were doubters from the get go.

I respect TO for his positivity this season - and at least he was consistent and didn't flip flop. I was right there too. I'm sure i have some posts in this thread too that echo what TO was saying. It's awfully convenient to hear some of the criticisms now after the team suffered the most ridiculous collapse in the last month of the season that really no one saw coming. Seriously... who would have guessed they would fall THAT bad?

So all you dudes chiming in your i told you so's: save it.

I appreciate the back-up Claudius and fancy.... but it's fine. I was a bit pissed about this yesterday but I've had time to cool off.

Just kids being kids for the most part... which is likely one reason why I don't have any yet. lol.

Boy, I guess it all depends on who says things. If it was someone you didn't like around here you'd be right in there ripping away and laughing it up and it would be in the post HOF.

Triano...

Belli...

Bosh...

a team that wouldn't "struggle" to make the playoffs.

And saying that certain people now looked silly for prdicting a struggle to get to the playoffs. Great passion, which is great to see, but when someone says look back at what I'm sayin now in a few months, you're setting yourself up for this.

Meh. I was dead wrong about Jose but the other predictions weren't terrible at all.

Triano = rookie head coach with 9 new players.... what exactly did you expect? He came close to a .500 and coached at least 10 games without his star.

Bosh.... if you thought that he was overrated this year then I really have nothing more to say...

Belli.... was inconsistent, but showed potential. Young player with a lot of skills who had several very good games. Again... what were you expecting? For him to make the all-star team?

Next time I'll look into my crystal ball so that I can be aware of when Hedo is going to mail it in for an entire season and when Bosh will get hurt for a stretch of games.

+1 to both.

If this had been Jeffb's thead, it would have resulted in 20 consecutive

For the record, there is a SIGNIFICANT difference between what TORap did and a plain, old regular predictions thread, in which users post predictions with lesser degrees of confidence and based on limited knowledge of how players will mesh. I have no problem with the actual prediction TORap made because I think the Raps could have won 45+ games. They had the talent. What I found foolish in October, and still do, is making a prediction phrased this way after only 1 game. And by "phrased this way" I mean basically daring people to comment in April and poking fun at them. After all, he said others looked "silly." He was essentially daring people.

Also, it is worth nothing that TORap has totally bashed BC lately. That is actually genuinely worthy of mockery. It is an ironic 180. No, he didn't flip flop during the season. That's true. Instead he just waited until the end of the season to rip the same GM he initially believed had constructed a 48-50 win team.

All of us are either Bill Simmons or Bill Simmons' dad. Or Benzo?

In any case none of those categories are inherently bad. These are games. If anyone wants to feel superior to Torap because of what he said and they didn't say about grown men in short pants, then it says more about them than it does about Toraps, and this is a guy that still loves Haffa - so that's sinking pretty low.

Of course I cannot feel superior since I was my prediction was more off-base than his. Damn you Torap for going on about bookmarking this fucking thread!

But I'd still look at the season the same way going in. Otherwise I might take up knitting instead.

So, if Bosh had stayed healthy and we won a few more games and made the playoffs and lost in Round 1, is there the same amount of mockery happening here?

People are fickle.
