are you dreaming ?

why denver will let go nene, if they want keep carmelo, it will not be a great move to do a deal with us. we have nothing for a contender. Maybe peja and bargs... but i don't think BC will trade bargs.

so it's just a dream.

alabi come back, it's more defensive mindset at the center position.

we have see that amir+davis at the same time, it's a great combo, but we need a 4th big man with heigh, denfense to go with barg. so alabi as backup will learn a lot.

i hope, this 4 big men can work well together.

Nene is not a great rebounder... But I love his aggressiveness in offense.
That would be great to bring Lawson here, reunite the former teamates in UNC Davis/Lawson. And Davis would be more confortable with the idea to play North of border too. But I don't see that happening.

As much of a beast Nene is, he's done in a fews years anyway. Not really worth it.

Anyway, you guys just watch Alabi shit all over the Nuggets frontcourt.

Haven't heard? He's planning on leaving the NBA after his contract is up to pursue his dream of being a church priest or something along the lines of that. I'm trying to find an article that explains it better.

Ah ha! Found an article:

Quote:
Nene, entering the fourth year of a six-year, $60 million contract, said he doesn't want to be a player who chases money. He plans to retire at a relatively young age to devote his life to God is the Answer, his Christian church in Brazil.

"Every year gets harder,'' said Nene, who vows to play at least five more NBA seasons, but offered no guarantee of even a sixth. "By seven, I'll stop. I won't go for more than seven because I have other goals. I have like a deal for my pastor. I want to get involved with the church right here in Brazil.

"If my financial situation is stable, why am I going to (want to) have more money? I'm not crazy for money. I think the best I can do is with the church ... I can help with things with my testimony.''

The devoutly religious Nene, who writes "Jesus'' on his shoes, believes he has a lot to offer his church. He is a cancer survivor, having undergone surgery for testicular cancer in January 2008.

Okay, here’s the first thing you need to know about Solomon Alabi.

He is not here to play. Please put out of your minds that he’s back from the D League ready to play minutes in an NBA game, if he’s on the floor, it’s some kind of dire emergency and that’s not a knock against the personable young man, it’s just an accurate assessment of where he is in the infancy of his basketball development.

And I will say this now after talking to more than a few people about the D League and what it offers guys sent down:

It seems to be a colossal waste of time.

Kids go down there and there’s no real support system for them. Coaches are more worried about their own fates than truly developing players, the kids live in hotels by themselves, they eat who knows what instead of getting some solid nutrition -- Thanksgiving at IHOP? Please! -- they don’t have a lot of friends to hang with and life, according to a lot of people, kind of sucks.

I’ve thought for a while, and it’s been reaffirmed by conversations I’ve had in the last couple of weeks, that the best thing for guys like Alabi is to be around an NBA team, to practice against NBAers and to get daily coaching from people who have a vested interest in making them better.

Being sent to the minors is like being banished from a family, and that’s not what young players need.

People should really stop praising the D-League from now on after reading that article, thinking it actually works to develop players. It might work to an extent, but rather he get proper training from proper coaches.
