Exclamation Alabi back to Erie

Quote:
The Toronto Raptors announced Wednesday rookie centre Solomon Alabi has been reassigned to the Erie BayHawks of the NBA Development League.

This will be Alabiís third assignment to Erie. He has played a total of 11 games for the BayHawks where he has contributed averages of 8.9 points, 6.6 rebounds, 2.6 blocks and 22.1 minutes.

Alabi has posted two double-doubles with Erie, his latest being January 9 versus the Maine Red Claws with 20 points (9-11 FG) and 11 rebounds in 31 minutes.

I'm sorry, I really want to like this guy but he is a total deer caught in headlights out there. He's so raw and doesn't have any bb instincts from what I can see. Ajinca is so far ahead of him its' scary and even HE should only barely make an NBA team's bench.

I really hope for our sake Alabi is gone next year because IMO if he's still on the bench we are still a talent-starved glorified d league team.

If he goes down and dominates, he could build some confidence..... and the important judgement will be what he does over the summer.

I would still take a shot at Alabi. He doesn't complain (I hope) and just wants to go out there and play. Carp is right, it will depend what he does in the summer and what the Raptors do in the summer. I'm guessing BC is keeping Alabi because last time he traded Hibbert away and look at him now in Indiana. I'm not saying he's an all star, but he's pretty solid now.

I thought indianna drafted Hibbert with the Raptors pick. It was in my understanding the Raptors didnt choose hibert. It was chosen for them.

Yes you're correct. Nobody really knows if the Raptors even take hibert there. All they did was what the pacers told them to do.

How many prospect big men do you need though? We have Davis and Johnson and Bargnani as rather thin big man guys now. You have Ajinca and Alabi in excess and Reggie to boot. Why waste time on this guy..he's already miles behind Ajinca and eons behind the others...to me it's just a big waste...let him go play in Europe or something ....he won't make it in the nba.

This is good for Alabi, he isn't getting any playtime in T.O so it makes sense for him to goto D-League. At least down there he'll get some playtime, I wish him the best down there.
