I don't think he'll be here for long, he'll be gone by the offseason the latest. Yeah he's 7 ft but he plays somewhat like Bargs with maybe a little more grit on the defensive end and more effort in getting the offensive board. We don't need a Bargs 2.0. What we need is defensive center or a post up center. We need some rebounds and need some anchor at the paint. Our interior defense is lacking and it leaves Amir or Davis to take all the fouls in the paint sometimes.

I think now we need upgrades at the C and SF position.

I actually only caught the second half yesterday do i totally missed his good game, but i don't like the way our bigs are set up for the future. I agree with you about a need for a more interior dominating guy. It's pretty much a must and Bargnani just ain't cutting it as a 5 who is going to be relied upon for 35+ minutes a game.

It kills me that we couldn't have traded Turkoglu to Orlando for what they gave Phoenix. Christ the Suns made out like bandits. Gortat would be sooooo welcome here.
ah well.

I guess we'll use the rest of this season to see what we have in our guys. Ajinca bring your a game the rest of the way.

Hey maybe he can be used as a back up 3rd string or when amir gets in foul trouble. I mean he played a solid game yesterday.

he actually played pretty decent yesterday and played more in the paint than anything. the only time he stepped out was when he knew hed be open for the shot of which he was drilling. i like him, he has hustle and has something to prove, and hes STILL GROWING. if he can stop at 7-3 or even what he is now, pack on maybe 40 pounds in the next four-five years, he can be a solid backup centre. sure hes not gonna be a dwight but for a backup, hes a good abled body to have. plus hed be on the cheap. i say lock him up for 3 years to maybe 900 k-1mil a year. trade Bargs for a centre, and draft an sf. then u have a pretty solid core going forward. future isn't looking so bad..

something has got to be wrong with this guy, maybe french attitiude like moise.

he's huge and seems to have decent skill which is why i question two teams already giving up on him.. Hit alot of jumpers last game which you cant complain about but i hope he isn't in love with those shots. no more seven foot 2guards

He won't cost much, so if he can show something, he may be good end of the bench material.

are you kidding me? he is much more defensive minded than bargnani. he's a lot longer and more athletic and although he didn't play much yesterday you can tell he has very good timing on changing and blocking shots- that's not something you teach
also he moves his feet very well on defense and has good lateral quickness... i can see him developing into a good help side defender and a presence in the paint on defense.
he is obviously tougher around the rim than Bargnani and can finish strong. don't forget he's only 22... a little more polish and added strength i can see him being a good defensive centre

as for the outside shot, that is a plus for a player like him

THIS.

The bucks were scared as shit of the paint when he was in the game. We have to see more of him, but I like what I see so far. How you gonna judge him off 1 game, and 10 mins lol?

i actually enjoyed the fact that he got ten minutes. good on triano for sitting barg's ass down when he wasnt playing d or grabbing boards. im starting to like the guy. hes tough, and gives minutes to those who work for it.

maybe i'm over exaggerating a little, but saying he is Bargnani 2.0 is just ridiculous

i'm just saying he looks like he has the potential with his length and athleticism. but god given potential isn't everything, look at how many 7 footers fail to stay in this league.
you can't teach timing and the knack for playing defense. he looks like he has that already

He played on both ends of the court, and knew where he was supposed to be. That automatically puts him ahead of Moiso and POB. The guy is very tall and long. And he gave a nice shove to whoever thought was going to touch paint while he was guarding them. And he rebounds. That means he is not Bargs 2.0.

I didn't like the idea of him to start with, and he didn't help by describing himself as a big that can shoot twos and threes. But he showed me something. If he could develop any kind of footwork he would be pretty dangerous.

Charlotte liked him. They are just a badly run organization and they let Dallas fleece them, and then Dallas had no room - strictly a numbers game there.

I like the way the French national team has been put together the last few years. They look like they know what they are doing, so that's in his favor.

And he's got a great name, although he should shorten it to just LXe

10min 10points : good offense yesterday !
10min 1block, he contains bogut or yalsova and make his presence in defense a treat ! good defense !
and the dunk he makes with the pass from demar falling on the floor make him at the good position at the good time ! good timing !

for his second game with the raptors, i was impress, because when he enter the game he changes all.
the Raptors had no defense before he enter, and then they got better at defense. i don't think it's all because of him, but he changes something !

so he is young, he has lengh (7"2), he has some skills and show some defense ! what a steal for the prize !
i wasn't happy he came here, but in fact if he can show that every game in the future, that will be a great backup asset for the Raptors over the next two season !

I don't know, I don't see anything really. Its funny how people say no more euros on this team yet want to sign this guy and lock him up. I've watched some of his games with Dallas and he's almost like Bargs and Dirk. He's long yes, but his lateral quickness isn't there. Possibly maybe of lack of NBA experience and conditioning. Don't get me wrong, I dont hate French people, Euros, or him specifically. But I don't really see him staying here long.

You're probably right. I certainly am not saying lock him up long term. I think he's just worth seeing more of.

He just needs to learn the difference between a good outside shot and a bad one. He seems a little to eager to show off his outside touch at times.

My scouting report.

Pros:

- Excellent mobility for a 7+ footer.
- Unbelievable length.
- Nice range on his jump shot, can't be left open.
- Good help defender. His mobility and length are huge assets here. A guard turning the corner and seeing someone with his length in a defensive stance will hesitate to press the attack. (Saw this a number of times, he's intimidating to penetrating small guards.)
- Good timing on his blocks.
- Good offensive rebounder.

Cons:

- Lack of post moves.
- Not especially physical. Gets outworked for position, and gets pushed under the basket often.
- Not strong as a defensive rebounder.

Conclusions:

His lack of rebounding ability limits his prospects as a rotation player in the NBA. Needs to learn to use his size better in the post, especially on defense. Because of his height he needs to learn to lower his center of gravity by assuming an almost defensive stance when boxing out or establishing position in the post.

At the moment he is an intriguing prospect. His willingness and ability to learn, as well as his work ethic, will determine whether he can capitalize on his potential.
