AB & The power forward spot

I was just thinking how silly it has been that we all, the team, the media even Bargs him self, talked so much about him playing PF when I have noticed that during the course of the games that Bargs has played in, Amir & AB are continuously switching rotations on the opposing big men...

Why was it made such a big deal of?

& also since we look like we will be getting a top 5 pick do we draft the best player available? If this is the case they would most likely be a a PF, almost forcing us to trade Ed & Amir.

Or do we take the best wing available?

It's more beneficial to have bigs that are capable of playing both spots.... meaning size is paramount. AB can play both, Amir is showing to be capable of at least playing meaningful minutes at both, Ed seems a bit small to play C but maybe he's just not physically developed enough. Even last year AB was guarding C's and PF's, but his point was that he didn't want to guard much bigger, stronger players all the time.... and why would you want your most skilled players getting beat up anyways. It's the same argument that Bosh made, as Horford has made, as Brook Lopez has made. It's elementary baby!

Are there any credible big boards yet? I'm not that familiar with the players in the draft and who's the consensus top-10 right now.

Woohoo! Frontcourt of the future!

Bargs is the man now, no doubt about it. Notice how his rebounding hasn't really went up but by not looking lost defensively he looks like that much more of a player? It's all McDonalds out here baby, "I'm Lovin' It"

Carlito 01-25-2012 10:02 PM

you take the best player available ... never have too many bigs

I agree. You can always trade a solid big for a solid swing man or PG.

I like Batum's game, but we need a penetrating PG/SF/SG & Batum is not one.

I would rather trade for anyone who can dribble into the paint cause this team is really bad at draw & kick.

Dude, Batum gives AB an option to pass out to the 3 point threat... he's ideal, plays D, is long, athletic and isn't a total sieve on O.
