I assume that you're not aware that due to a medical condition (alopecia), that he can't actually grow eyebrows or any hair at all for that matter.

Good to have Gray back, that size is something every team needs and JV probably isn't ready to carry that full burden by himself.... and he probably shouldn't ever have to either. Gray knows the system, Casey likes him, he's a guy that knows his role.... it's up to amir and ed to show that they deserve his minutes now.

Lol i was just salary matching...To see what one player we could get for 2 of ours.

I'm pretty sure not many want Charlie back but i gotta say this he played well for us when he was here.

Maybe an older Vet like Joel Pryzbilla would've been better but Gray is good enough. Young big body.

Again, though, like I said, if we are amnestying or trading someone, this can change. Since all this is happening before the 11th, they have room to manoeuvre to do these moves a number of ways.

To your point, if we did use his rights, he would be signed to a 2 year deal starting at $3M (at most). But there would have to be an amnesty or trade (reducing salary) for that to happen.
Even if renounce all of our cap holds (jj, weeks, Bayless, Anderson etc)?

Can you trust JP to get through a whole season? Gray seems solid.

Legitimate Question Carp,Pryzbilla does have a history of injury.

If he was used mainly to start and sparingly yea. The main focus is JV,who'll eventually get starter minutes whether he starts or not. Gray is solid and I have no quams about him being brought back. Pryzbilla would've been good for teaching JV a few pointers and giving veteran competition in practices

Can see the value in that.... though I'd like to move one of Ed/Amir and have one less young big that needs to be taught so much.

Concern about JP though, is much the same as Magloire.... once they fall off so much, they have very little value on the court.... tough to carry a player that acts only as a coach as a roster spot.

Absolutely. To use cap space I'm assuming we waive all our cap holds (except Weems, who is only 1M). If we do that, we have just enough cap space to sign Fields and pull off the Lowry trade, plus about 300K leftover. Waiving Weems' salary would put us at 1.3M cap space. So the Room MLE is definitely the most we can offer Gray unless we amnesty or move someone.

As long as we use the MLE before the team renounces players which would be after the 11th Unless the team makes a major move for an SF but I'm not holding my breath at the moment for a move like that.

So that means we'll lose Anderson, unless we waive him first and then resign him, but I think that's illegal ...

That's too bad, I liked him

Also, we'll lose uzoh.

Okay, so we use the MLE to sign Gray to 5 million, and then don't have the cap space to sign Fields and trade for Lowry.

It doesn't work, Doc.

How about letting gray since he's an Ufa, and then sign him using a portion of mle?

No, we can waive his rights and resign him. He is a free agent. We can sign him to the vet min if we want. Same for Uzoh.

Don't mistake waiving a player's contract with waiving his rights - very different. Waiving a player on a contract has a lot of ramifications - waiving a player's rights only really has cap and exception ramifications.
