I agree 100%.

YE same, even though tanking would give us that quality pick, for some reason, I still want this team to do really well, but even if we do lose, I dont want us to be blown out, liek a game that goes down to the wire where the team gave it its all. Still would rather want the win though

Yeah - that is what I was talking about in terms of entrenching some positive changes even if the record ends up pretty sad. Winning would be ok too, but this team is a year away from really making any kind of noise, so the pick means more to me. Again - having a season is a bonus, even if they do well for a stretch rather than tank: there will still be a chance at moving up through the lottery, as opposed to what looked like would be firm positioning had their not been a season. I see this season as a chance to start a big climb. I'll be ok with anything other than gimmicky wins with a mish-mash of a roster. They need to gain some sense of an identity, and do what is needed to not be the worst defensive team in the league.

+1

I think of the main goals is to get that defense improved, if we can crack the top 15 in the league somehow, i would consider it a successful season no matter of our record

I honestly think we can crack into the playoffs this year. (7th, 8th). Casey and the small season sorta give me hope. If we can steal some games the first few weeks i think we can be good.

Get a real Center and wing player that can hit 3's and I wouldn't doubt it. But really, that wouldn't mean anything other than losing out on a top pick.

Yes. So we can obtain another top 5 pick and have Jonas come back next year. Then we try.

i'm really glad we missed out on the top 2, coz i honestly think Val was the best pick in that draft! Not the most talented but a center with a real chance to be a top player. If we'd top 2 BC might have had to pussy out of picking the player he clearly wanted.

next year's draft top 5 will definitely be strong, and probably a fair bit below that.

ye, i think thats why he said he could now potentially reach for a player since he got the 5th overall

“A lot of games, sad to say, are going to be practices” Casey said. (LINK)

This season is going to be uglier than last year. 20 wins at most. The schedule will kill injury prone players.

the 20-30 category looks italicized for me, so I'm assuming that means I chose that one back when I voted. Depending on injuries, it's probably going to be low 20s - 21-23 in my opinion.

Raptors have 15 wins now. I would be stunned if they win 5 more.

That said, its been a pretty fun season so far. I'm surprised at Jose's resiliency.

It's been a great season so far IMO.

With the level if injuries

- Bargs playing at a all star level and then being out (missing the all star game and 20 reg season games)
- Bayless injury woes
- Calderon injury

and the fact that this team has extremley been way better on the defensive end then last year with new coach casey and no training camp.

Id rate it as very positive and really excitied for JVAL, another lottery pick, and financial flexibility in the FA market to setup next year.

Loving it
